I can't watch this video without crying. There is a clip from after the Virginia Tech shooting and my sister was attending college at Virginia Tech when the shooting happened. Her roomate was in the building next to where the shooting happened and my sister had classes in the building where it happened. My comfort in church is closing my eyes during the music and feeling the love in hearing everyone sing together. Maybe that'll help ya if you're still feeling uncomfortable. Even though I'm not religious, this song is very touching. I love the overall meaning of peace and aid when suffering occurs. It's one of those songs that makes you want to pull out a lighter and sway along to the rhythm. Pure genius. :)

@metalwar31 not gnna try and start an argument or anything but theres a common mistake everyone makes...and I just want to say God and religion are totaly diffrent things someone could believe in God and everything and go to heaven and not belong to any religion...religon is just a title that we humans gave groups and what not...just wanted to say that and also Im glad that you still respect this song...not a whole lot of people will respect and like songs for God when they dont beleive in him..

@MyFirstZerk Hi! Well the song is being sung in first person as if God is speaking to you. He is asking why are you trying to do things in your own strength when He is there to help you through the tough things in life. He is asking you to come to him. He will always be by your side to help you and you can lean on him! You can cry to him or talk to him and he will listen. When he talks about "look at my hands, my side" the song is referring to Jesus when he died on the cross for you.

I went to New Orleans for a mission trip with my church, and this was our 'theme song' for the trip, and we watched this same video before we left. When we got there and worshiped with the people who literally had nothing, thats when I really knew what this song means. God, please watch over all theise people

We played this song at my little brothers Memorial service in alaska. And my brothers pasters wife did a traditional native dance to this song. Many people cried but this song was one that always stuck with me because we played it at the hospital while the doctors removed him off of life support. Thank you

I love this song so much. It was the first song I ever heard by tenth avenue North, and it continues to be one of my favorites.
