  • Great recording! :)

  • Why wasn't a re-railing frog used. It is set against the rail, and then the loco is slowly back over it and up on to the rails.

  • How the... can WOOD! rerail a train?

  • @predatortheme - Wood didn't rerail the loco - people driving another loco and using wood under the wheels did.

  • They make it look so easy

  • HEY, DOES THAT CRUSH FINGERS?

  • @barbarotico yes it does. it also smashes heads pretty good as well from what i hear.

  • is that an mrs locomotive

  • we still re rail cars like that... could of been a wide guage or the loco wheels could of picked a point due to switch point wear, an unlatched switch handle, worn out handle latches, bad flanges or bad wheels... it always sucks when you put anything on the ground.

  • Pile of wood...poor man's rerailer.

  • @wirerail Nope. Poor mans rerailer is a stack of tie plates !!

  • Thats the locomotive from "there goes a train"!!!

  • @Amtrak1194 WOW. someone else owned that video? XD I LOVED watching that as a little boy. and I live only 45min from Camp, and have been there. sadly their museum is a LOT more strict now, I used to climb up and into the train cars. now everything is fenced off. Its a shame things are so "safe" now to avoid lawsuits. I love the Campo Railway Museum. but yeah...you just blew my mind with pointing that out.

  • They re-railed a 240 ton locomotive the size of a house using blocks of wood....color me impressed. That's some old school rail skills right there.

  • thumbs up if you like putting pennies on the track so trains run over them. :D

  • i think that was a mrs military road switcher

  • love the comments here: The Internet, serious f***ing business!

  • Omg i think that was the train used in "There goes a Train" with Dave Hood I love those movies :D

  • @Semitruckman101 it was, I remember it clearly how he stopped the museum train just before colliding with a car stuck on the tracks!

  • It's a lot simpler in N scale.

  • good job!

  • Amazing. Truly. Never seen it done. And I would never have guessed that wood would work. Awesome.

  • Looks very easy!!!

  • As Dave says, "Come on down to Campo!"

  • Was this the locomotive used in "There goes a train"? I think it was...

  • yes it was

  • Wow that is awesome. There was a derailment near my house and all the cars bunched up like an accordian, but there was a road right next to it so they just dismantled the cars and moved the freight onto trucks, but seeing some of the remote tracks in the mountains here, I always wondered how they got trains back on track if the road wasn't there.

  • That was interesting to see. I've never seen that procedure before, thanks for sharing.

  • Wood: Not to be taken lightly! XD

  • gayfagboytommy20010 I catch you trying to derail 1 of my trains... Be expecting prison. Dumb Mofo's these days.

  • what loco did the use to pull this one out, the 2104 or somethin else?

  • If i ever catch you trying to derail a train ill personaly kick your ass

  • damn i wanted to upvote you dude and i clicked downvote by accident. hope you dont mind. i laughed out loud at your post.

  • lol no problem

  • I'm thinking about reporting your comment to the authorites

  • @gayboytommy20010 You're such a big failure that you can't even derail one in MSTS.

  • @gayboytommy20010 This is a federal offense in the United States and now is also under the strong arm of Homeland Security.

  • @Robkat3751 Interestingly, it was found that Bin Laden was plotting to derail trains over highspeed bridges for the 9/11 anniv.

  • @zimtower the jewish are who are plotting to derail trains to blame the muslim people. Remember that jewish are the most terrorists group ever.

  • @gayboytommy20010

Derail my train and I will tie your ass to the fuckin tracks....That train will make you its bitch as it runs your worthless ass over.. Keep playing with your fucking cabbage patch dolls you ignorant queer fuck

  • Ahhh! That's so much fun!

  • Most likely it picked the switch points, sort of easy to rerail just a few blocks of wood and pull it back to the heal blocks.

  • Why did it derail?

Did they use a special device or just boards?

    Thank you.

  • nice.

  • good work

  • Oh wow, that looked surprisingly easy!

  • Wow

  • Во прикол.

  • Looked like an MRS-17? Alco Army Corp. Forces Command... Just a guess.

  • awesome

  • that is oddly intense.

  • What was the cause of the derailment?

How did they force the wheels back on the track? They wheels had to be outside the rail on the other side.

    Thank you.

  • they ran thru the swich slitting the points and then ran into the switch and pu it on the ground both sets of wheels where on the inside of the rails but in between the both rails

  • crappy friction bearings

  • That looks like a US Army locomotive. Im willing to bet this is a tourist railroad somewhere...?? Anyone know?

  • Pacific Southwest Railway Museum in Campo, California according to the roster it's an EMD MRS-1

  • That was cool

  • what RR was this ?

  • Cool video at Union Pacific Railroad running a switch will guarantee you a level 4, 30 days off and a visit to the pee pee tester...of course if your a company kiss ass you'll become a supervisor. Keep on Railroadin

  • can somebody explain the process?

  • There were blocks of wood stacked under the wheels such that the locomotive could be pulled up the wood and back onto the tracks. The locomotive was already attached to the switcher when it de-railed, and it was caught early on. The method that worked best was to back up the locomotive a little and then pull it (a slight running start). Sorry if my terms are not all correct.

  • Thanks for your explanation!

This may be dump question: Why does a train derails?

  • In this case there's a fairly rare (I'm told) piece of equipment there, a 3 way switch. The locomotive wanted to go straight, not around the curve, and it fell off.

  • @muytreo In the video it looks like it was a "wide gauge" or the track was wider than the axel and fell in between the rails.

  • you are right

  • simple, use blocking and run the wheels back on the track with a rerailer on one side or just wood blocking...

  • is it that easy or they just good at what they do?

  • i recognize that locomotive, if your kids had the kids movie there goes a train, the train going through the crossing is the one that got rerailed.

  • Poor switch... Nice job anyway.

  • I've been on a train that derailed and then got back on. It's such a relief to be NOT on the ground!

  • I work for the railroad and i've never seen that! Very neat!
