I was another person impressed by this power trio. I was not interested in hearing Carl just rehash the hits, but these cats tear it up. Their other cuts are killer too.
Funny thing ... Paul Bielatowicz was 7 years old when ELP first released Trilogy in 1978. Now, in 2007, he's Carl Palmer's guitarist. A testimony to the longevity of Classic Rock masters.
In the end, it doesn't really matter whether you liked this or not. It is what it is. However, I'd REALLY love to know what Keith Emerson's opinion of (reaction to) this would be/was. Kudos to the guy on guitar for keeping up with Emerson's keyboard composition.
Of course I'm loyal to the ELP original, but if you think of this as a prog/funk/fusion band doing a cover of the original version of Trilogy, it's really an interesting interpretation. If I heard a local band doing this, I'd be saying, "Hey cool! A modern interpretation of Trilogy!"
Sorry, listen 6.25 to Carl Palmer and conclude that is sucks? Grow up man. Look in the mirror. I reacon the music does someting with you?
A machine with feelings. Well said!Carl Palmers drumming is allways music, allways reaching out, allways brillant and touching. Missing Keith though, but thanks for posting!!!
Sorry, but this does not suck. Yes, there are no keyboards, yes it's a shit recording off someone's phone. Just try to imagine what it would have been like if you were there. Whether you know the original piece or not I reckon you'd be blown away.
Probably my favorite ELP song, i dont know why they dont have it live, but palmer did it awesomely, and i love how the piano part was done of the guitar.

Saw the Carl Palmer band play this last Friday. Different bass player, same guitarist.
A lot of talent in a 3 piece band and Mr. Palmer's work was brilliant, intelligent, and witty. I was blown away.
No, it doesn't sound like it used to. What does?

nice thanks :) A bit strange for me though hearing a guitar where keyboards have been lol
And no vocals. That said- nice job by this trio.
