SLipknot added traits of death metal (Whether people want to believe that or not, its true), Mushroomhead are shock rock and bands like Seether and Breaking Benjamin are heavily grunge influenced. I'll always love numetal, its far more diverse tha any genres about at the moment.

Instead of tuning to a low B like normal, he basically added an extra high C# string. Think of it this way, its like a 6 string guitar with 2 high E strings tuned the same. Very unusual.
