Yes, it is awful for so many people. I've been in some of the trailer homes and a lot of people work hard to keep them tidy. Some people have really lovely houses. My Lakota friends have beautiful houses on the rez, but that's sadly the exception. A new trailer home can cost as little as $3000, and most of that is for transport. The rez is huge, and a lovely place to visit. There are accomodation businesses, and everyone is friendly. We've been twice, once for 5 weeks. I love it.

If there used to be buffaloes in that area, that means there should be grassland at the very same location. Why not create more self-sufficient jobs in that area by helping the locals to build cattle and sheep ranches for income?
In addition, though I don't know where South Dakoda is, but I know American Indians, American cowboys and casinos would be a big hit for Asian tourists. Most Asians like gambling, and Asians have lots of cash instead of credit cards in their pockets.

I hate to lump all natives together, But I live in the Fraser valley and we have dozens of reserves. They throw hundreds of millions at these tribes, they get free housing, not shitty houses either.. They get free schooling, and guaranteed spots by quota. They dont pay taxes, they get shit loads land. I worked on the Matsqui reservation clearing the great Canadian trail. within a year most new houses looked like those in the video, they even the burn their ownsiding cuz too lazy to cut wood.

It is a good idea for the Indians to start businesses that are needed (barber, car mechanic, etc.). Otherwise, the Indians need to move closer to the cities to get jobs. They'll go nowhere, if they stay isolated. For example: Many Irish crossed the Atlantic, because they were starving or were living in poverty and wanted work opportunities to improve their lot. They didn't want to leave Ireland, but they felt they had to for their survival. Their country was also taken over by outsiders.

Those Indians should make blankets to sell in the big cities. Indian blankets with drawings of Indian tents and buffalos and Sitting Bull and so on.
Blanket Apache, Blanket hair of Custer, etc.They could also make Indian jackets and moccasins. Not all hand made, but more or less industrialized. People like indian shit.
