  • This is the best version of Comfortably Numb that I have heard. David Bowies vocal is so bleak and contrasts with the warmth of David Gilmores voice which suits the nature of the song, and of course theres the majestic guitar playing.

  • thumbs up if you want that gilmour lives forever....

  • BEST SOLO EVER.

  • Просто класс. Такой классной музыки уже не будет..

  • Dictionaries should add "comfortably numb" under the term "Solo"

  • I think we can all agree that the best part of this video is the man rocking out at 7:00

  • 7:00 your welcome...

  • Wyj..........................E w kosmos :)

  • F### Awesome!!!! Didn't see this one but I was blessed t watch folyd on the pulse tour.

  • is there anybody in there?

  • This is a song only Waters and Gilmour together can make work. Every other colaboration on this song, namely Kate Bush, Van Morrison and this...etc have fallen flat

  • How EPIC is that???

  • My whole body has just turned into 1 big shiver, every single hair is standing up.

  • they must be high as fuck

  • @Tuby1395 High on the music. If you were a huge David Gilmour/Pink Floyd fan you'd be dancing to.

  • @madeinNorwayAM95 i am a fan o pf, but i would not be dancing

  • @Tuby1395 :(. I'm sorry you lost your legs. I hope you have caring people to look after you.

  • Nice post, big bowie fan, big big floyd fan, nice combo. as a matter of interest, as this was voted 4th best solo, which were 3,2 & 1?

  • @pitmungki I'm not sure about others but 1st is Stairway to heaven

  • The Best Solo !

  • sempre i migliori

  • this is what guitars were made for

  • rip syd

  • This is amazing, a legend with his black Strat

  • I was there that day. Both David´s did their best in giving their own feeling to that amazing and unique song making this version very very special. Thank you David G for giving me the chance of feeling the best guitar solo of rock history and future!.

  • Okay it annoys me when people comment on the dislike bar, but this time I absolutely cannot believe my eyes that 5 people have disliked this.. HOW?! Surely if you were weird (insane) enough to actually not enjoy this in the slightest (and that is putting it lightly) you just wouldn't watch it? I am beside myself, these are musical geniuses at their best!! I mean: David Gilmour + David Bowie + Comfortably Numb, there's nothing more to say!

  • @el0dii ur spot on

  • Awesome!

  • tHIS IS "The GUITAR SOLO" OF rock n'roll history

  • roger waters /???????

  • I say thumps up for the dancing bald guy :)

  • 6:46. No sex for him. Ever.

  • @celt999

I pissed myself when i read that

  • Shared on my Facebook page!Just great!

  • I miss Roger Waters ='

  • Hendrix's guitar + Gilmour + Wright + Bowie .... wow

  • I just asked for this DVD for Christmas. THEN I see Bowie singing CN... How happy am I now?!?

  • imagine you are in the middle of the crowd... just feel the energy of the music. close your eyes, forget there is a time and a location. Just for two minutes. So fucking great. Who else would trade todays Top 10 Artists for a PF reunion?

  • Interesting. My only comment with Bowie whom usually I like...

  • Lets be honest... We'd all be dancing like that if we were seeing David Gilmour play Comfortably Numb.

  • OMG Bowie totally SUCKS here

  • roger.

  • Comfortably numb with Gilmour without waters dont is the same thing .. comfortably numb with Waters without Gilmour too .

  • This version is the best ever. Thanks Davids

  • I would have given anything to be there that night.

  • Bowie fits perfectly here.

  • I love guitar... Any kind of guitar... Gilmour is the best because he understands musicality and how to express emotions with it

  • David Gilmour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I adore his own way of playing guitar!! you can never be fed up with this!!! a pure marvel!

  • Maybe only to make love is better than this. And I repeat.....maybe

  • The plastic rock show moulders on. I hope Roger Waters never has to see his great poetry slaughtered like this.

  • @periurban Except that this has nothing to do with Roger. This is a David Gilmour composition. And it almost never made it to "The Wall".

Although unlike anything previously recorded, it deserves respect only because it is a different version.

  • @chicagodiceman Er, the lyrics were written by Roger Waters. Hence my reference to "poetry" and not music. You really think Gilmour could write those lyrics? He wishes!

  • Bowie, and Gilmour....How cool is this!

  • Gilmour = The GREATEST guitarist ever !!!

  • Nothing can compare to this, awesome mind blowing Bowie and Gilmore together a dream and such a song so powerful

  • no better feeling in the world

  • I'm totally stupified!! Wow!

  • Bowie+Floyd=

    omg

    omg

    omg

  • cada vez que escucho a giimour tocar este solo tengo un orgasmo musical

    genial.

  • You can't imagine what this video sounds like in my friend's dad's music room, i don't do drugs but i felt like I was on one when i listened to it then

  • What a soul~thrill! It was almost like being there! Thank you for sharing, sugar. *hugs*

  • The Guy from @6:45 had a pure soul so the power of the solo absorbed his mind his is know known as pink.

  • Does anyone know how Gilmour came across Hendrix's guitar strap? It was in the info section btw if you didn't see it.

  • @danslatente

reminds me of The Pick of Destiny :D

  • @danslatente

reminds me of The Pick of Destiny :D

  • @danslatente

His wife bought it at an auction, for his 60th birthday. It cost her $15000.

  • Look at all those idiots sitting down in the audience!

  • @jamezdd73 Hahaha. You're just jealous ;D

  • Book of Gilmour 2:09 :"And there came from the heavens a sound which cut through the clouds and scorched the air, a sound which gave off a blinding light brighter than a thousand suns. All men and women on Earth were awestruck by this sound, and trembled and wept and clutched at themselves, for it was a thing so beautiful as to defy description; so beautiful that their minds could not fully comprehend its' perfection. And God saw this, and He smiled, for it was good.

    Peace :-)

  • @binnyman

can you tell me the name of the book please?

  • @ChainWasp Sure :-) God's Guide to Heavenly Music, Book of Gilmour, Chapter 2, Verse 9. A tongue-in-cheek reference to the time in this video where David's guitar sounds the epic opening note of the first solo of this song. The power of this note, which has been known to split the atom, is showcased in this video by a laser-light-spread above the stage, representing the infinite magnitude of this tome reaching out into the Universe. Peace:-)

  • Has to be up there with the top 5 tracks of all time. Bringing David Bowie on stage to sing Water's lines is just pure genius! - Would have given my right arm to be in that crowd!

  • Not a great performance. I have seen Bowie and Gilmour separately be alot better than this.

  • It is Rick Wright who plays keyboards ?

  • @TeleThinLine1 Yes !

  • @TeleThinLine1 ... yes?

  • @yusbarrett, true, I doubt if Bowie has ever seen The Wall. He's the wrong guy for the song.

  • @RexAlban Lol Bowie is a huge Pink Floyd fan so he most likely has seen The Wall. I thought performance was amazing!

  • 6.22 Big Goose Bumps

  • I don't mean any offense to any David Bowie fan but... i just didn't feel it right listening him singing Comfortably Numb. Sorry...

  • A parte mastro lindo morsicato dala tarantola è estremamente favoloso!!!

  • rather sensational

  • My two favorite musicians on same place, playing my favorite song. Perfect

  • They continue to inspire me to write originals. I will love them forever!

  • That was awesome! One of my favorite songs ever!!!

  • Two greatest David :)

  • Is that Charlie Runkle in the audience dancing?

  • 6:45 - Exactly my thought.

  • 2 of the best together...Just simply a wonderful performance.

  • i have to say that what made this work was Gilmours open mind to allow his fellow vocalists to make the song "their Own", dont try & be RW because you are not, make it yours, this is something that took DG a long time to get rick to do & thank god he got him to do it, each individual gave this song their own feeling & as a viewer is that not what you are supposed to feel? you feel what you feel & not what others feel, thats what makes us individuals, thats what makes this a gem! Nice job Dan!

  • @c0mfor7a31yNum3 I totally agree. Like most concert versions of Comfortably Numb that are not David Gilmour, nobody can do that song as well as him and those that try to imitate exactly fall short imho, the only ones I have heard that make me say "Wow" are the ones that have made it to some degree their own, grasp the feeling of the song and go for it. Look at the way Bowie did Arnold Layne, I thought it was killer, because he made it his own.

    Thanks for your great comment.

  • @c0mfor7a31yNum3 - I agree to a certain extent, but the recurring point is that it always comes back to wanting to hear Gilmour's take, because it is the original and best the song can possibly be.

  • Great job as always :) keep up the good work!

  • My two favorites. Gilmour and Bowie together is the most amazing sight for me. I think Bowie really injected his style into the song and I liked it. And I have no new great words to describe Gilmours guitar playing other than the man is the best. Sweet and talented Rick is much missed. Thank you for posting.

  • @ 2:05 just wanted to say : our dearest Richard Wright, tears of joy to see you're a part of this song, never will I forget !

  • Horrible!!! I didn't think that song could be hacked so bad, but Bowie hacked it up greatly!!!!!! That SUCKED!!! Only thing that could make it worst would be Bob Dylan...

  • @bonjourtag lol, i think you are forgetting what brian adams did to it on RW Live in berlin disaster......

  • But considering the meaning of the song, the man who says those words should sound as a man who has no idea of what Pink feels and his mental condition. Pink, the hero of the song, the tragic figure, is in psychological agony, but the man/doctor who tries to diagnose and treat him is unaware of his tragedy. So a man whose function is to demonstrate the world's indifference to Pink's tragedy must exactly sound as Waters; cold, oblivious and

    insensible...

  • I both liked and disliked Bowie's singing here. I liked it because his voice is great, the melodic change he made in the 'talking' part of the song is remarkable. I disliked it because the change in melody in Water's part, however great it sounds in itself, is totally opposite to the overall meaning of the song and the function of these parts in the song. Bowie sings in a way that a 'protagonist' sings, that is, a hero would sing.

  • @PsychedeIicGirl This heaven is enough for me!

  • I love Bowie's vocal on this track, Everyone who's sang Watrs' part since the 80's has made the song sound very different, but the guitar solo is always pure Gilmour magic.

  • @steviemgallacher I agree 100%.

  • shared on my Facebook page!!! awesome performance.

  • @ruzqt4me Thanks for sharing this around!

  • he gets better as he gets older

  • Mr. Gilmour's guitar playing takes me to a different level.

  • I got two gems, the first David Gilmour and the other Em Kon, my special friend from England ! of course David Bowie deserves a good mention for this song.

  • @thankGodforDavidG Such an honour my em kon..I am blown away...Love and hugs..

    Always Em Kon...

  • David Bowie somehow struggles but other than that the song is performed perfect by Pink Floyd. Also I would like to pin point that the stage work is brilliant too!!I'm not saying anything new,all PF work and the ppl that are involved are excellent.

  • I did one video with my personal version by 'Comfortably Numb' !!! lol

When you have a little time and if you wish, please, watch and enjoy with this video !!!

    Best Regards from Brazil

    Roger

  • @mguirro1 I like how you did all the instrumentals yourself. You put a lot of time and effort into it.

  • melody is just amazing..!!!

  • the dude in the audience dancing cracked me up

  • Simply Amazing! Thank you so much for sharing :)

  • Brilliant!!

  • OMG this guitar solo is crazy O_O

  • lol @ the dude on drugs dancing xD

  • WHAT A GREAT PERFORMANCE!

  • Very Beautiful!

    1000***************

  • Great version! Thanks for the upload!

  • I agree with you about his singing. Wow. This video has been rendered perfect.

The shots from top stage to back of hall at 5:41 and end were both perfect

and panoramic. The lighting was so beautiful. Certainly one of the best Comfortably

Numbs David Gilmour has *ever* done! Wish I was at Remember That Night.

  • @PinkPrism008 I bet David will do another appearance at the Royal Albert Hall. What an awesome hall to perform in. If he does I am getting on a plane and going.

  • absolutely love bowie's singing here, is nearly as good as roger's

    thanks for the upload mate
