Uygurs are dominantly turkic, their language belongs to oghuz dialects, which people in Turkey, azerbaijan, turkmenistan also speak. There are indications that Huns\Magyars have a strong connections to turks, but somehow their language drifted away from turkish. The Kuman in Hungary is another turk tribe (I think not oghuz, but kipcak). They also lost their language.

uyghurs belong to th chagtai or eastern turki dialect not the oghuz.. uyghur is the original language of all turkic people.. but turkic (turkemsn,azeri,kazakhs,tatars­,kirghiz,turkiye turks) people move westward and they mix russian, persian, french,arabic words.. we uyghurs kept our language ..but the chinese are opressing us and forcing us to learn chinese!!

Can't you see from Youtube vid., Uyghurs sing and dance beautifully in China. Where is the oppression? Actually Uyghur ppl there enjoy the highest living standard among other Uyghurs in neighoring nations.

No It's not oppression rather they want you to join the economy improvement by knowing Chinese so it's easy to find a job. Many ppl in the world are learning Chinese now for trade etc.

I'm sure Uyghur is also taught.

I think Hungarian lang belongs to Fini-Ugur Lang system. Uygur is also spelled as Ugur. There might be connection between Hungarian, Finns and Uygurs. Even Estonions i guess.

Well, yes and no. Finno-ugoric is what the Austrians created and spread during heir "occupation" (this theory is changeing as there are evidences that Hu. language has connections with sumerian too (Inc. the old writting system)And there are many similarities with the Uygur culture. Confusing
