  • "How to lie on your Resume and get the job" Marilee Jones, MIT's dean of student admissions

    God, this would sell..

  • Don't they do a credential check when they hire these people? I imagine from a prestigious institution like MIT has a system, I know at my University, there is one...

  • she ruined so many peoples lives.. everyone who she ever had an impact on probably feels cheated. and the poor person who would have gotten the job in 1979 if she hadnt lied. she should be fined millions

  • Watch some of Marilee Jones' other videos, specifically her lectures on the pressures and REAL lies being forced upon people and young people in the 21st century. I think she was fired because she was asking too many difficult questions. You'd think that a person who has been doing something for 28 years would probably be pretty good at what they do, and would have earned their title by that time!!!

  • OH MY GOD THIS IS SO UNEXPECTED..

  • Thanks a lot, I cant read for myself and need other people to read the internet and post about it via a video for me.

  • Does she still get the pension? What a joke.

  • Oh the irony hehe :)

  • College basically sell Admit ticket to attend class, like a hollywood movie, NFL football.

Yes-letter, yes, can come to class and see lecture.

No-letter. no, cannot come to class and see lecture.

Knowledge belongs to world. Knowledge belongs all six billion people of earth, not just 18-16 year old, living on campus, who can pay 50K year.

Digital lectures, textbooks, can reach billions, worldwide. anytime, anywhere.

Digital colleges can reach billions, worldwide anytime, anywhere.

  • Why do you need a doctorate degree to be a Dean? I don't see any real evidence for why someone who lacks a doctorate degree would do a lousy a job.

  • @Environmentalist111 you are correct, but she "beefed up" her resume. To stand above her competition -who don't have a doctorate degree- she lied telling the school that she had one. The school was tricked into thinking she was somehow better than all the other applicants, and therefore made her "admission" unfair... Ohh the irony.

  • In America or any 1st world country, it is possible to become successful in life. All it takes is a good resume. Do people lie? yes. Does that make them bad people? no. It makes them smart people. Except this particular lady is an educator who advised teens not to do the same thing she did. "Do as I say, not as I do"....her words and actions should be consistent.

  • 28 years? She's already eligible for a decent pension.

  • Good vid.

  • Good Point there jonfrost... In one example, the best Weigh Scale commissioners used to be truck drivers who 'cooked' their own books. They know alot of tricks and therefore hard to fool.

but on the other hand, How could she really provide for real needs? She may be good at catching the liars, but might be no good at helping real needs.

One last thing is Schools have pushed and sworn that cheaters never win (whatever the saying is)

well, she 'won' a job for 28 years. And she quit it.

  • Well...think about it... who better to catch fakers and determine good candidates, eh?

  • and why did the mit want to employ someone with a phd for the job ? and why did they not find verify ? there is an unreasonable premium /reliance for these paper qualifications / certifications which when compounded by their own negligence leads to these situations .. im sure youtube user thunderappeal here below will succeed with such organisations ... all the best thunderappeal !

  • I'm going to apply to MIT now and make some stuff up. I think I have a chance now.

  • LMAO

  • i agree with you.. afte r28 years it doesnt make any sense to fire her.. she should at this point only be judged for her performance and contribution. If they did fire her and she had very good performance.. bad for them, somebody else will get that same high value experteese for much less.

  • Incredible!! Thanks for sharing.

  • The irony here is that applied to MIT but I managed to lie on my application about certain things. Marilee Jones was the admission coordinator that time, and she informed my high school of what I did and I was punished for academic dishonesty. 7 years later, I'm looking at this and I am completely astonished. Talk about the irony.

  • The lesson here is to be really good about your lies. Right? That way you never get caught. Sorry about you getting caught.

  • The title should have been:

    MIT dean of "admissions"

    1. The act of admitting someone to enter

    2. An acknowledgement of the truth of something

  • "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?"

  • hehe crazy women

  • crazy...

  • I just read your profile ("...stoned sounding voice...) LOL.

  • are you like, stoned?

  • Read about this earlier. That's IT for her (no more M). Now two scary pronouns in the basement.
