I would agree however, that it's as generic as the deftones have ever been. the chorus harmonies and guitar riffs are a little cheese. a few of the tracks of this album feel like deftones meets bon jovi. This is coming from the biggest deftones fan you'd ever meet. There is enough good material on the album to make up for it though.

i was about one years old in 95, haha. but deftones is my favorite band and will probably always be. i think it's great how much an impact they have on people. how they can carry their music on from before '95 to after the millennium. just goes to show you how great music can bring all different types of people together for a long ass time. the way their songs make me feel... hjlkjhklj i can't explain :)

If those Djent bands want to know how to sing over meshuggah heavy guitars without sounding epic/emo they should take lessons from Chino, awesome singer. Kimdracula is one of the most evil/angry sounding tunes i've ever heard and it's all probably minor scale but the soul (varying expression/dynamics) that Chino puts into the singing (and screams) gives it everything.

I was about 7 yrs old at the time the first time I heard Deftones on the radio, that was about 1995 or so. This band was damn amazing back then and are still rocking the shit out of those mic’s today.
