Very nice. I've listened to more performances of this song on YouTube than I care to count. This one is among the best. You came in evenly on the runs of tones at the beginning and again later. Many groups can't do that or have to devise a way to cheat on them. The harmonies were good and all of the parts were competently covered. I'm more a fan of the Chordette's style than barbershop, but a good performance is a good performance, regardless of style. I like it!
I agree. However, 'constructive' criticism means pointing out a fault and providing advice or a possible solution. Simply saying that someone isn't that good is just an insult. But thanks for the newly given compliment. We are very excited about this weekend. :)
Wow. I'm the lead... and was that comment really necessary? We're one of 16 contestants in an International competition to be held this Saturday, the 24th... so I guess I'll let the world be the judge, instead. :D Have a great day!
@fourmataquartet Within barbershop/sweet adeline, there seems to be a debate as to whether the lead should be a dominate voice or simply balance well with the group. I am a fan of balance and blend, rather than having a superstar lead. You handled the role very competently. I really do believe that the best leads are the ones that blend well with the group rather than showing off. Good job! This performance of the the song is among the very best on YouTube.
SO good. I've been listening around to get the harmonies - and this is my favourite so far.
