Back in the day, people liked his stuff because he was the only one who made song parodies. With the advent of YouTube, there are now hundreds of thousands of song parodies that are not only well made but ACTUALLY FUNNY. Man I hate weird al so much. He's probably a nice guy but that just makes it worse.

First off, yes he does his own songs. (see Hardware Store/CNR/My Baby's in Love with Eddie Vedder/etc.) Second, they're called parodies, not covers. Thirdly, not only did Michael Jackson love both the parodies, so did Chamillionaire, and Coolio regrets his hostilities to Al. Fourth, it's a K sound, not a CH sound. Ball's in your court.
everyone has their own opinion about music but the fact that he's sold over 12 MILLION records shows he has some talent.
On each of his albums half of the songs are originals. He'll write the music and words but because he's known for his parodies they don't get as much publicity.
