She is trying her best to sound sincere reciting a speech someone else clearly wrote for her and is falling pitifully short. I'm trying to be objective, but this "first lady point" goes to Michelle. Perhaps my vision is skewed by the news blurb I saw where she was apologizing for stealing supplies from a charity she was working with because of her addiction to pain pills. Character DOES count, not just in politics!
You are aware that she isn't running for office, Right!
Also, what part of "Americans are the most generous people in history" don't you agree with? No other country in history has given as much of its treasure and blood for others than the USA. Japan, Europe, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan all own the freedom they enjoy to the USA.
When the tsunami hit Indonesia in 2004, who donated more than all other nations in the world, combined? Answer, the USA. When an earthquake leveled Bam, Iran in 2003, who donated more than all other nations in the world, combined? Answer, the USA. Who has donated more money to fight Aids in Africa than the USA? Answer, no one! When a disaster strikes some distant part of the world, which organization is on the ground with relief before anyone else? The American Red Cross.
Real simple folks... If you hate the country and want another great depression vote Obama. If you love your country and want to thrive vote Mccain. Simple stuff.
I resist the urge to make statements like that. I believe that Obama would be bad for our country because I do not believe that Socialism is good for any country, but I don't think it will cause a depression. Most European countries practice Socialism at some level, but none are experiencing a depression. They do, however, have a economic growth rate that is 1/2 to 1/4 of ours and an unemployment rate that is 2-3 times what ours is. In my mind, that is the best reason to not vote for Obama.
Typical fool, swallowing the status quo propaganda. You bitch about pennies to the needy as "Socialism" while millions are both given to and stolen daily by the wealthy corporate welfarers who already have millions. A Trillon in Iraq; A Trillion for Wall Street; just in the last 5 years. Guys like you will lick their asses at the drop of a hat. Your writing reveals your miseducation but, of course, in your mind, ignorance is bliss. If you ever run into P.T. Barnum, say hi. He already knows you.
Regarding swallowing the status quo propaganda, that's you, not me, so let me clear up some of your exaggerations. You talk about a trillion for Iraq when the real number is less than $600B, you talk about a trillion for Wall Street when the Democrats are proposing we give them $700B right now! Republicans oppose the bailout because we don't want to give the people who caused this problem $700B. Democrats support this bill because in the end they know they are the reason the problem exists.
The whole mortgage crisis started because Democrats during the Clinton administration whined about so-called "red-lining" which prevented people who can't afford a mortgage from getting a mortgage. Democrats threatened lawsuits to the mortgage industry if the practice continued and the mortgage industry caved. Surprise surprise, the people who couldn't afford a house can't afford their house and are now losing them and now the Democrats want to bail out that same mortgage industry.
I wonder if the Democrats desire to bail out the mortgage industry could be because Democrat Chris Dodd, the guy in charge of regulating Fannie and Freddie, is also the biggest recipient of political contributions from F&F. Or maybe it is that Barrack Obama (The Messiah) is the second biggest recipient of political contributions. I guess the slogan "Change We Can Believe In" really refers to the change that will be left in our pockets when Barrack is done with us.
In the end, I don't believe in any type of welfare (corporate or social) because I don't believe that it is the responsibility of the government. Every time the government sticks its nose into private industry, it always makes the situation worse and this whole mortgage crisis is simply the latest example. Politicians, most of whom have never worked a day in their lives" have no special expertise in business, so what makes them think they can regulate any part of it?
Wow, Sounded like mommy reading a bedtime story. It would have been better if she read goldylocks though. I'm ready to go to bed now mommy, please tuck me in. Goodnight all and remember be good boys and girls.
We need Republicans to take control from the children from time to time. We should have been fighting this war full-time during the Clinton administration, but we didn't so we got 9/11 and Bush had to pick up the pieces. Tax cuts got us out of the turmoil from the Clinton recession and 9/11. Corruption was present on both sides but only Republicans got held accountable for it. We haven't entered a recession yet, so that part of your argument makes no sense.
As for pollution, we are better off now than we were during the Clinton administration and further along in our reduction of greenhouse gasses than any European country or where we would be if we saddled ourselves with Kyoto. As for erosion of medicare and runaway health costs, that is because the government is involved with it. Get the government out of healthcare and watch the prices drop!

It's really simple folks.
IF you think the last 8 years of a Republican run government have been good for the country, then vote for John Mcsame.
HE voted for Bush policies 90% of the time. Hardly a maverick.
McCain and the RNC talked "change", but from what. Themselves!
Endless War, debt, recession, corruption, tax cuts for the rich, pollution, erosion of medicare, runaway health costs,

Hilarious.
Yeah, it's "Clinton's Fault".
You guys sound like desperate repeat recordings.
I've got news for you pal.
9/11 happened well into Bush's (Republican) Administraton.
The facts are that he and his Cabinit of Fools IGNORED many, many warnings and alerts about an impending attack of some kind.
Instead, Bushbaby was reading "My Pet Goat" to a bunch of schoolkids when the terrorists hit us.
It's Bush's fault completely.
Traitorious dereliction of duty. Republican incompetency.
