IDF=I Don't Fly, this has to be the saddest piece of engineering made by Taiwan. Even our home made missiles are horrible, recently they had an exercise, when they shot 4 surface to air missiles 3 went in to the ocean. I wonder with this kind of sad weapon development program how are we suppose to protect ourselves. Solution is just to purchase it off the U.S., but U.S. just rip us off on everything we buy from them. Plus China cries like a angry baby even if we buy a bullet from the U.S.

@Veilside1000HP I don't think I'm a nerd. But, calling me a nerd is exactly what a troll does.

Taiwan has quite a good armed forces, I think. The thing they really lack of is a proper main battle tank (upgraded or not, M60 is fairly old-school) and a submarine fleet. But other than that, they're pretty good.

In Malaysia , military service is voluntary unlike in Taiwan and I myself never served in the military but I understand the situation that your beloved country is facing eversince 1949 . The Mainland Communist never relented in their effort to subjugate you through various means . They talk about peaceful solution to the Straits Of Taiwan "problem" but at the same time they threatened to use military force to cow the Taiwanese to submission

@MrHelmyabdullah You're from Malaysia? Cool, I've always regarded Malaysia as one of the few countries were islam actually works, to a degree at least. Your country could teach the rest of islamic world many lessons. I personally am from Finland, don't know if you're familiar with the country.

Taiwan will be eventually merged into mainland China, diplomatically or militarily. Even while Taiwan has good military, it cannot quite compare to the 21st century People's Liberation Army :(

And above all , the Russo-Finnish War & the Continuation War , where your country stood your ground against the might of the Russian Red Army . If your small country can defeat a huge bullying giant like Russia , surely Taiwan too can do the same against the giant Red China

Well, I guess that your logic makes sense. But honestly, if Russia invaded Finland today, we'd be hammered without mercy. The technology of modern day warfare has made it impossible to achieve such victories Finland did in second world war.

In fact, I'd say that Taiwan has better chances of survival against PRC than Finland against Russia.

进气道为什么不设计得大些,今后也有改动的空间.

这么小推重比一定会成问题.

@liqi1128 不懂不要到处丢人，进气道优劣的参考指标是进气率而不是进气口面积，决定推重比的关键因素是发动机，与进气道面积的大小无关，DSI进气道的面积更小，但是进气率并不会因此而降低。

@dratigleoeag 你虽然中文不好，可我也不会骂你是“到处丢人“，您看清楚我写的是什么了吗？推重比与进气道，是没有直接关系，可是今后可能的“改动”“改动”“改动”“改动”时，会受到限制。尤其是如果想要换装更大功率的发动机，在您看来在设计之初F16、歼10，包括重型的F15、Su27那些巨大的、与机身“不成比例“的进气道都是极其愚蠢的吧？因为与IDF想必他们的进气道都太“夸张”。记住我说的是“比例”，鉴于你的中文理解能力我在强调一下，不是这些机种的进气道大，而是比例较之IDF大得多、大的夸张。

我同意你的观点，飞机推重比与进气道大小无直接关系（我再次重申）,可是我从来就没有说过他们有关系。只是如果今天的设计不为20年后、30年后的改进预留空间，把所有的不确定因素考虑进去，那你就得像英国海军那样两艘航母在大洋上裸奔等舰载机。

@liqi1128 如果您所谓的“改动”是换装“更大功率的发动机”，甚至改用新材料机体，那么所需要的改动只是换装与新发动机所匹配的新的飞控系统，包括新的飞行包线，与进气道毫无关系，而如果您所谓的“改动”是要改动进气道，那么我只能说您真的不懂飞机，因为不论F16，歼10还是重型的F15，Su27，不管如何升级机体材料，电子系统，动力系统，甚至加装保形油箱，都只能是在飞机最初设计定型的气动外形下做改动，包括最新的F16E/F，F15SE，或者是Su35，都只能升级内部构造与软件系统，外形是不能做大改，尤其不能动进气道，我看不懂您所谓的“改动”，是因为如果要改动“进气道”那不异于重新设计一架新飞机，所以说与我中文理解能力无关，而在于我无法理解您想怎么改？您自己说的“进气道为什么不设计得大些,...这么小推重比一定会成问题“，如果说您这里的“这么小”是指其他的什么东西，而不是进气道，那我只能说您的思维很跳跃，否则您就不要否认！至于预留改进空间的问题，那也要看美国人的脸色，因为这架飞机的核心技术还是美国人的，并且据我所知也一直就没有给过台湾。
