I actually think the Phantom is quite creepy in this part of the movie.. The way he talks calmly to Chirstine about how he kills for her.

The music from the opera here is taken from Tchaikovsky's fourth symphony, interestingly enough.

I remember watching this part of the movie when I was 5 or 6. I knew it wasn't the Lon Chaney version, but I had a feeling it was Phantom related.
