Ew that's fuckin' gross haha. Or you know, you could just play heels up and rebound the pedal twice and not fuck up your knee and look like a dumbass xD
i've problems with this: my foot after few time starts to slide down at the end of the pedal; and when i try to do that fast i don't know why but i start to play heel up. some tips?
perhaps because your body gets tight, and heel up is more natural. practice the EXACT movement very slowly for a long time...then slowly speed up. watch your feet when you do it..you make subtle changes. knowing this, you can try to fix the negative change that yours has (ie, playing heel up)
hmm....well, a tight spring allows for more rebound, but makes you do more work (as the spring is hard to press down) i, personally, have my pedals tight..but that's because i want a workout, lol.
@brenzig It looks like you use more of arange of motion then I do tduring my swivel, so thats comforting to know it wont cause damage:), great vid! thanks for posting.
I totally don't care, right? That's why I've I tried making these as quick and as easy to learn as possible. I had a lot of crap comments about it was bad for knees so I defended it by giving a full description of what muscles to not incorporate. Sometimes learning to relax certain muscle groups will help focus the involvement of proper muscle groups for specific motions. I find this technique obsolete now though. Once you get the motion completely relaxed, it's a lot like the moeller.
@brenzig really man,it's not about 12 yold gay Kollias fans,it's about what doctors,Dave Weckl,Virgil Donati and Kollias said. You can get the same results with the ankle motion, you really should. Think about it,I don't want to have an argument with you!
could you show me heel up i would really love to learn heel up...i know heel down but i really hate it because i cant achieve speeds i want and i know i could speeds i need in heel up...i play metalcore/deathmetal sort of stuff and i could use some advice =D
Heel up is fairly simple. Just kind of push how u would with your heel down while your heel is off the ground. If u go slower u can get more power out of using more of your legs. If you want to go faster just rely on your ankles. Hopefully i helped you, heel up was just kind of natural for me.
wow, I like your explanation, especially on the "more info"
For comments below me, I think actually it's not your knee or muscle which is damaged here. But your ligaments and tendons. can be sprain or strain. I hope not strain, because it's the worse one
Hey, it's very difficult to swivel man, but I think you''ve got nice explanation there.Because calf is stronger then tibialis anterior right? sigh, practice, practice, practice.....
George Kollias has said that the swivel will eventually damage your knees. It all depends on how you do it, if you swing out with your knees, or at that height, you could mess your knees up... rather swing out by the ankle and you should be fine.
Feel the upper more outside quarter of your calves while performing the swivel. It should flex on and off. If you're feeling pain in the ankle or knee try relaxing more. You should focus only on the plantarflexion movement of the talus in your ankle. As in only worrying about stepping back up into heel up. The heel down motion is a relaxing step. I just let my leg fall into heel down to only be thrown back up by the pushing motion off the ball of my foot.
A question.. HOW MANY TECHNIQUES DO YOU KNOW??? I've seen like 1000000 vids from you and you have diferent techniques. lol. It's amazing. I know the swivel, high heel, down heel..(can't learn heel toe cuz it's short board). for hands.. i know. wrist and fingers. Maybe i know one more, but i dont know the name. xD. Your vids are awesome btw. Keep going.
Is the pearl eliminator worth buying?

heel toe is better than this technque

@s3rTing Only for doing quick doublets, with swivel you can keep going. But i suppose its personal preferance.

hi firend :), do you think it's better the swivel with loose or tight springs?

thanks for the nice tutorial!

It seems like you care a lot less about teaching the technique as you do about proving its not bad for your knees.

but make sure your foot is on the pedal the whole time
