Using amateur scoring criteria, count the shots. Who threw the most? Shogun. That's a fact - it's math.

Using professional scoring criteria, score on quality as opposed to quantity. Who consistently scored the most effective shots? Shogun.

You're right though, it's not his Karate that makes him so frightening, it's his propensity to be nearly impossible to hit (on average he is hit a total of two times every three rounds he fights), nearly impossible to take down (see fight with tito ortiz), and his Karate gives him KNOCKOUT power.
