that is by far the coolest pattern of a snake I have ever seen. I want to get a snake like this but how much does one like this cost? Also How long does he get?
jungle carpets is my favorite out of all the other subspecies of carpets... my jungle darkened a bit when she grew and shedded her skin... but she's still a beautiful snake and also your is too!
This little video is a true gem, I watched it dozens of times already and I still can't get enough of it! You're snake is absolutely of a stunning beauty and heartwarming sentiments :-)
@Vixeh go look at Ben siegel's he has some carpondos that look alot like that. I'm not saying urs isn't what you say i love the snake but Ive seen carpondos like that.
Natural bad attitude I think, she was held a fair bit as a hatchling but never really calmed down. She's got even worse now after having her first clutch a month ago!
@Vixeh oh, ok. yes i hear jungle's have bad attitude's but every snake has its own personality i guess.
was really lookng forward to getting some jungles off you but moving to WA in a few weeks ):
my scruby is just natural bad attitude. i pick him up hissing lke keck, hold him put him back in his enclosure, goes strait into the strike pose and strikes are me!
A striking snake! And quite tame. We've got a variegata carpet python at my work but its really snappy. Im handling it daily but its always on the defensive.
i Just got a male baby JCP. He is around a foot in length, and has some color, but WOW, your JCP has an absolutely brilliant color at such a young age. My girl is the snake expert, and this is my first snake, so I know a bit thus far. I know that JPC's develop color over time. How bright was she when you first got her,and what is she like now?
that jungle carpet is so bright ,i want one. i have i ball python that is turning 2 in march 1st hes pretty cool but i just really wanna carpet python like that. Can you tell me how much carpets useally r?
im getting one in a couple of months and i was just wondering what a good size tank would be for a baby i think 20cm long im not quite sure bout thta but...
My Jungle Carpet baby is fortunate enough to have a 30 gallon tank with several heat gradients. He loves to climb through the branches and is most active at night. During the day he perches as close to the top heat source (ceramic outside the wire top) as possible. His colors are as vibrant as yours. The pattern is different.
My Jungle Carpet arrived today via FedEx ( smaller than yours) Black & Yellow beauty. He's on "rat pups" /gave him a fuzzy. I put one in late tonight ( he seems most active now) He spent the day in his trees exploring and then sleeping.
Loves to climb. I'm used to Boas. The Jungle Carpet loves it really warm - more than the young boas
She is beautiful!!! I get mine in about a month...I'm so excited! The keeper said they can be quite bitey when they're babies but if handled enough they are even more placid than regular carpet pythons. Thanks for the vid, now I'm even more excited!!
I have a 4ft Iriyan Jaya sp?. I just bought about a month ago. I used to have a 6ft female coastal I have had since it was a juvenile. She was a real sweetheart. Vixeh is right though some are quite docile but they are rare. if you get one have a proper vivarium lockup. these guys are really clever. mine managed to slide a glass panel open. stunning snakes.
Although possible, it's best not to house snakes in glass aquariums due to the inefficiency of retaining heat, and the sides being see-through might make the snake uncomfortable in its surroundings which could lead to stress, and a cease in feeding etc.
However if you just meant the overall size (and it's not a fishtank) then yes that would be fine, if not a bit of an overkill for a small hatchy. =)
@MissAMLynch i wouldnt have one of these as a first but if you are careful there is no problem why not just make sure that you will be able o look after it
whats this snake like when being handled. i am about to buy one.. i have the choice of one of these or an (exotic) snow corn snake which apparently arnt very aggressive.. i will go for the corn snake if it this type of jungle is anything like a mates jungle python ( its more whitish rather then yellowish) and it bites frequently.
This girl isn't *too* bad, but she does have her moments and is one of the snakes I have to keep my wits about me when handling, or I WILL get a bite. =) It's hard to say about others though, while jungles are known to be rather snappy, I have also seen alot that are rather calm.
@sketchos123 i have a JCP and she was a handful when she was young. after about 9 months of handling she calmed right down. now she is one of the most trusted snakes in the house. obviously we are still careful with her, but she hasnt bitten in over 2 years. it all depends on how much you hold them
@sketchos123 lol, definatly get the python rather than the corn, even if it does bite now and then, ive been bit by a jevinile carpet python and it dont hurt anyway...

ok cool well im breeding my striped coastal carpet soon so ok well i would love to see the new video and yer that would be good if you could contact me would you live my details
well is the male like the female if so the colours would be quite lite if i could could i by one abit earlier san pay around 600 to 800 where in central qul are you from
The male is quite bright aswell, but has more yellow coming through the black. I have a video up of him if you wanted to take a look. Most should be very nice hatchies but there's really no way to guarantee that, some might turn out pretty average.
This is why I plan to keep them back a bit longer, as they take more time to colour up than other other species. This way I can hold back the best for my lines in the future.
This is still at least a year away so I will contact you then if you like
brisbane but i can come and fly over if you live in like sydney and see some reptile shows while im there so where do you live and if you did breed them how much would you sell them for
Im from Central QLD, but am happy freighting reptiles down to Brisbane. Can't say a price yet, it will depend on their quality. For Jungles I will most likely hold the clutch back for 10 - 12 months as they take time to color up, after then I will release some for sale.
Hey, she is a touch too small at the moment, but she will be over 3.5 next season (this is an old video) so I will be hopefully be breeding her then, providing the male is up to the job.
I never count my eggs before they hatch though, so they will only be advertised and sold once they are ready to go to new homes. Are you in Australia? =)
In the wild their found in the queensland rain forrests and possibly other rain forrest's in aus but you wont find them outside the rain forrest's like coastal carpet's and centralian carpet's ect...
Mines not quite THAT brilliant yellow but shes got some nice color, im not going to breed her tho so its not very important to me. But youve got an amazing snake there! Im jealous!
I just got mine a month ago and shes about a year old. Shes still a bit jumpy in cage but once out shes fine!
WOW, I have NEVER seen a Carpet so with such a bright yellow! That is amazing! Definitely worth the 600 bucks. When are you breeding this guy? I would love to get one of its anything like this one.
Unless your in Australia no can do, its illegal to import or export our animals. I will be breeding my two jungles hopefully 2011, the mate I have planned is only a yearling so to small yet.
Different lines develop differently, some at a younger age and others it takes a while longer.
He was 12 months old when this video was taken, his previous owner didnt feed much hence his smaller size. Hes grown alot now, i'll have to upload another video. =)
which is a good store in melbourne? east melbourne if pissible hehe. and what do u suggest for a beginner a diamond python or a jungle carpet python? im getting sending my license form tomorrow i can wait to get it hehe

Unless your in Australia no can do, its illegal to import or export our animals. I will be breeding my two jungles hopefully 2011, the mate I have planned is only a yearling so to small yet.

Yes my camera has a weird habit of doing that sometimes on video setting, I can't change it, sometimes it just does its very annoying haha.
But that is how he pretty much looked at that age! =)
Vixeh 3 years ago
Wow, I didn't know they could be so yellow at such a young age!
gj15987 3 years ago
Different lines develop differently, some at a younger age and others it takes a while longer.
He was 12 months old when this video was taken, his previous owner didnt feed much hence his smaller size. Hes grown alot now, i'll have to upload another video. =)

thanks man! yeah ill b lookin round for sure, even if i have to drive to palmerston myself ill do it :p beautiful pythons hey, love em
skinkyboy 3 years ago
that is a wicked specimen!! where can i get a jungle that has as much yellow patterning as this one?
skinkyboy 3 years ago
Why thank you. =)
I got him Roy Rails in Victoria, but as far as I know he sold the parents so does not breed them anymore.
There are lots of people who breed high yellow jungles, you just have to know where to look!
He is of palmerston locale - most of these animals are known for the fluro yellow colouring, but some can be very average looking aswell. =)
