  • Can one disable the annoying startup music?

  • @sangolt88 yeah it can be disabled.

  • Imagine hearing that music every time you turn the car on... damn, It's very annoying

  • Seeing the S.M.A.R.T. key is not permanent, it's nice to know that there are options available if you like turning keys.

  • i want one so bad what the hell was that sound when starting lololololol

  • this is what all the chicks at my school want

  • @punchmaster123 hopefully not stick lol

  • @Ginger6259 nope. thank god lol

  • Comment removed

  • great car for college student far more fun than driving lame corolla.

  • Does it make that tune every time it starts up???

  • @rush8806

I don't know but I sure as heck hope you can turn if off.

  • It sounds like it's laughing when it starts XD

  • For those Veloster haters, please get the fuck out of here.

  • ?????

  • Would this car be good for snow

  • The rare taillights are kinda similar to the European Saturn Astra (Opel Astra).

  • this is my first car =D

  • wtf is with the long introduction song for the radio? Overkill maybe?

  • loveners loveners everywhere

  • After we watched this review, my wife and decided we needed to try one out. As a result of our test drive, (of which we were able to show the salesman how the computer worked, since we knew from watching your video) we purchased the last one they had on the lot. Love the way it drives, only wish it was turbo - but that's coming next summer. In meantime, we can enjoy the great gas mileage and motorcycle-inspired interior.

  • The engine sounds so ugly when it starts lol

  • Waiting on the turbo version and im all over this car! I wonder if it will

Be an issue changing the head unit for a different one with a stronger built in amp for new subs.

  • This has to got to be the stupidest car ever made. For a kick off, it's not as sporty as it seems. It's not the value for money you'd expect from a Hyundai and finally: Three doors only? WTF?!

  • Lee min ho's car in city hunter :) LOL

  • Im definitely getting a turbo version as soon as it comes available, the regular one looks awesome which means the turbo one is going to be amazing. Keep making these awesome videos they really help!

  • Oh. And I'm totally buying the turbo this summer. I've been looking for a nice looking car that's affordable and with the extra horse power on the turbo it sounds simply amazing... And check out the technology being packed in standard... Holy crap!! We would have paid $200,000 for a vehicle with these kind of luxuries 20 years ago. I'm excited to get one!! Woo hoo!!

  • @LZSchneider.. Older Volkswagen transmissions worked that way. Four speed and for reverse pull up on the button and.. I can't remember which position. My father rebuilt Volkswagen engines growing up and he owned a couple dune buggys but it has been awhile since I have driven one.

  • This little beauty is selling like pancakes here in Canada folks>>>>>Some dealers are having trouble keeping up with demand.........

  • It looks fast, but holy shit it is underpowered. Turbo version should be standard.

  • @CrialCrial There is a 200 hp version on its way

  • @Audi123000 thats the turbo version coming xD

  • @LordKevin92 Sorry I forgot that it was the Turbo

  • @CrialCrial its what i like to call the apple method. they release one just to put it out there and have people rushing to buy it then a month later release a better one and then they rush to trade the old one in for the new one

  • I dig the nice body lines, but this car truly needs more balls in the engine's output! I prefer the upcoming turbo model this Summer, but wished had more than 201hp in it.

  • Sounds like it laughs when it starts XD

  • Saab, great job again... thanks!!

  • FAT GUY IN A LITTLE COAT! @11:22

  • i would love to see one in a V6 Common rail Diesel

  • that is a genuinely nice looking package!, Hyundai have really come up in the world in the last 10 years!

  • the transmission on the 2011-present Hyundai Veloster

    Transmission

    6-speed manual

    6-speed dual clutch transmission

  • Why must one pull a button to place the stick into reverse? Does Hyundai think it's customers are too stupid to understand the dangerous of putting a car into reverse when in forward motion?

  • @LZSchneider Why must you be too lazy to pull the button? lol it's a great feature. Because reverse is right next to first, it can sometimes happen that you shift into it instead of first when taking off from a stop, which would result in you backing into the car behind.

  • @RyguyCC

Accidentally shifting into reverse... Well I'll be a banana split topped in steamy hot fudged and crushed nuts.

Is that button a thing on modern stick shifts? It sounds like it'd be a thing on modern stick shifts. I guess the main reason it sounds odd to me is because this is the first time I've ever heard of it and it appears like it's an answer to a problem that never existed.

Except, if you are to be believed, there was a problem that existed.

  • @LZSchneider Perhaps you haven't driven a 6 speed with this configuration, it's an easier mistake to make than you might think, especially in the first few days of driving it. Is it a solution to a problem that very FEW people have? Yes. Does it have any downsides? No. So why not?

  • @RyguyCC Yeah yeah, you're right. I drive a 5-speed manual transmission and the reverse gate is on the opposite side of first. :S

  • 0-60 is more like 9s! In the UK they are £18K for base model. I'm amazed none of them have HID headlights as standard for a new car, or electronic parking brake. The inside is a cross between the UK Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta. God knows why they didn't put an extra door on the back! Rear space is terrible, rear visibility is poor too. A 4 seater with 3 doors, not very practical...it will not sell well here in the UK as I can get a turbo diesel Ford Focus or Mondeo which is faster & more MPG!

  • Awesome man~~~~~~

  • IS that the Verna Hatchback at 4:28

  • thanks 4 all this reviews

  • Over kill on the 2 tone coloring yikes.. I don't mine red stitching around the seats but gross. Yup sounds like a Hyundai when you start it up.. haha.. I'm waiting for the turbo version of this car.

  • I thought a Disney movie was playing when he started up the car.

  • Do a review of the i40 :D !!

  • 13:14 - Start SHUFFLING!!

  • UGLY ASS CAR

  • This car is so weird. Why 3 doors? Who does that? And its expensive but you really dont get much. A 2.0 Mazda 3 is faster, handles better (it has mulitlink rear sus), and seats more. I guess youre paying for the status?

  • @MangoSmoothie16 What status? It's a Hyundai.

  • I think its nice. Trend cars, y'a know, the kind of cars that you buy to make a statement, or to popularize your image; there always welcome. I like that it doesn;t have the pseudo-manuals that we're seeing in a lot of cars these days. Like Nbuilder1 said, it needs a turbo.

  • It needs the Turbo.

  • this narator does many cars he shuld give other people to represent the firms

  • i cant wait til it comes to Australia this year

    ABOUT BLOODY TIME MATE! hahahah

really looking forward to this :D

  • great video! thanks for sharing, really helps alot!

  • Hey, that start/stop engine button seems a lot exposed. What if one hit it while the car is moving? Is there any protection circuit or the engine will just shutdown?

  • @RodrigoCFD nothing will happen. Unless you're at a complete stop it won't turn off the engine. If you needed to turn it off while the car is moving (i.e. have a stuck throttle), then you'd need to hold it down for 3 seconds

  • That start up sounds just like my lawn mower

  • why do the toyota and hyundai door chimes sound the same?

  • Hyundai is revolutionizing the auto industry, with the Veloster leading the way.

  • @Turbo4Life1217 Hardly. There's nothing "revolutionary" about the Veloster. It's got neat styling, sure, but it doesn't get best in class fuel economy, doesn't have best in class power, or any other significant stand out features. Hyundai's have come a looong way in terms of quality, but they're not doing anything revolutionary as you say. Even the Hyundai Hybrid, which they rave about having the "first true automatic in a hybrid" is handily trumped by both the Fusion and Camry hybrid.

  • the back shape is not proportionate to the front of the car....a bit hint of Honda at the back

  • свежооооооооооооо!)

    iceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • I'm confused on this car. What class are they in? Hyundai already has the accent compact and the genesis sports car. And I don't see why there are 3 doors. It's as ugly as a Nissan cube with it's non-balanced design.

  • this car rely sux

  • saabkyle04 didn't mention if you get fully loaded with automatic, there's supposed to be flappy paddle shifters on the steering column. At least, that's what I heard from Hyundai.

  • @betatalk357 Actually all of the Automatics have the paddles. I just test drove a base Veloster the other day, and it had the paddles.

  • @limac333 Oh, ok. I guess they included in on all automatics because it'd be cheaper to make the exact same automatic with flappy paddles, rather than make it a bullshit special order option, like Chrysler's doing. I didn't know if all Velosters with automatics had paddles; I just know that when I was little, if I misbehaved, both of my parents would give me the paddles. And I didn't get them on the steering wheel column, if you know what I mean :)

  • @limac333 Ironic, isn't it? Chrysler spent $9 million of taxpayer cash on its "Eminem Chrysler 200" ad during Super Bowl. Some people liked the car; most hated it because its just a fancy Sebring. The ad sparked discussion with potential car buyers about giving the big 3 another chance and buying an American car again.

I only saw a few Veloster ads on the tv months ago (on regular tv, not Super Bowl), and a majority of people talking about the Veloster likes it and wants to buy one.

  • @betatalk357 The 200 is NOT a fancy Sebring!! It's based off the Sebring's platform but is a far superior car in every way. I test drove a 200 Limited with the all new Pentastar V6 today and let me tell you, that car is going to be SOMETHING. Heck it already is a hit. Amazingly smooth ride and driving characteristics, great interior quality, powerful, good fuel economy, and it's a very attractive car. I was so impressed with it and it's a tremendous value for only $25k.

  • @mhtube01 Many people, including Consumer Reports, called the 200 a rebadged Sebring. In fact, the Avenger is outselling the 200, but both cars aren't selling well overall. Consumer Reports did show all the classic Chrysler/ Dodge faults with these cars. The crummy 4 cylinder with no power and poor fuel economy, the useless brakes, the fact the cars are heavy (3,300 lbs. for a small sedan), the bland interior.

  • @mhtube01 Sure, the improvements they made to the cars helped it immensely, but the 200 and the Avenger need a lot more improvement. At a time when they need sales, why are they slow going to improve models, unless they're trying to improve all models, little by little? But that's pointless. As for the Dodge Dart, same 2.4 as in my Stratus, but after 15 years with Dodge they can only squeeze another peazly 40bhp out of the block?? A 1990 BMW M3 with the same size engine made 240bhp.

  • @mhtube01 Oh, the 3.6 used in both cars has 26 mpg city, 31 highway mpg. But the average is 28.5mpg. My 2.4 averaged 20mpg; I won't be surprised the 2.4s used in the 200 and the Avenger can't do any better than that. 15 years of development, and all that can be achieved is 20 to 28.5 mpg average?

  • @betatalk357 Well I'm not familiar with how the 2.4 performs in those cars but my PT Cruiser has that engine and it's a good fit for that. I completely disagree about the 200. People in my town are raving about it and it's one of the best sellers along with the 300, Durango, Charger, and Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Challenger is doing better than ever too with the 392 they put in it. The 200 I drove had great brakes, smooth everything, and the interior is beautiful! No faults at all.

  • @betatalk357 I think it's a great value compared to other mid size sedans I've looked at, one of them being the Acura TL which is a nice car but costs a lot more than the 200. Yet the performance specs and features are pretty darn close. The TL just has a little more power and push button start but that's pretty much it. But I'd rather the key start in the 200. I loved the 3.6 V6 it had, it was so smooth, very quiet, yet powerful, especially paired with the 6 speed auto. VERY comfortable too.

  • how come there's no indicator light on the sides ......??

  • @epmc123

majority of car manufactures cheap out on the US-Canada car market by not installing a side signal light because its not required to

many cars have this problem specially for the US-Canada market only, if you go overseas, there is signal light on the side or on the mirror

  • wherress the breathalizer broo?

  • fuckkinnn gaaay

  • would this be a nice car for a 17 year old male?

  • @idntnowatimdoing u really want this??

  • @idntnowatimdoing acually its not even that bad. i guess it wouldnt be.

  • @DaOldSchoolRapLova96 lol yea i've been saving for a nice, cheap but new car

  • @idntnowatimdoing It will. I almost got one, but got a Forte Hatch that I liked better, so I got that instead

  • I can't beleive its only a 1.6 litre!

  • The colors for this car are so gay. 26.2 Yellow, Vitamin C

  • I love the sound it makes when you start up the car. I think it's a nice touch.

  • man~~i love this car~~dear santa :)

  • i hate the way it sounds when it starts up. It sounds horrid! The start up music sounds...90s ish lol. Overall though i like this car alot. I saw 2 of them in one day. One in blue, one in white. I want one

  • Nice car

  • Dat music..

  • There's Only Right Rear Doors. Is that for reduce cost ??????

  • @downloadoldum This car costs $18,500. An Accent has 4 doors and only costs $13,000. I don't think it was because of cost cuts.

  • @downloadoldum i like the one door. dont have to adjust your seat everyone time to let them into the back. plus its on the passenger side so its not on the main street.

  • @downloadoldum its to give it a coupe feel but at the same time have the accessibility of a 4 door for the rear seat.

  • Very nice video, was looking for a show of the car as I'm participating in a raffle for one. Thank you for going through the entire stuff. Now I'm really hoping to win it :)

  • This is a really good review. Thanks

  • Wish it had signal mirrors!!

  • I'll wait for turbo

  • I thought push to start was on the base model?

  • @Hi7nRun no, you have to get both style and tech package.

  • @riceeater702 I was wondering because my friend ended up purchasing one. And it had it but he didn't get the tech package because the panoramic sunroof that comes with it actually lowers the head room like 3 inches and hes 6' 4" so that would not work for him. lol But I wonder if it's different for Canadian models.

  • This car is bitchin and off the hook

  • First time I saw this car bfore it even hit showroom floors was in the Global Rallycross Championships with Rhys Millen at the wheel

  • The startup was kind of iffy!!! needs more of a sonata like startup. Overall, great looking car

  • the back is soo sleek that if a suv or truck hit the back it would go stright over the hyundai and crush the roof

  • that roof opened so fast! jesus!

  • that's one sexy ass looking 2012 Hyundai Veloster

  • the subwoofer in the trunk is for tenderizing the meat you've just bought

  • I was quite impressed with this vehicle at the Orlando Auto Show just this past weekend. While I have to say it was drastically overstyled, like the car's designer's mouse-click finger had gotten antsy, it was far superior interior-quality-wise to the Genesis 3.8, which was also present at the show. Japan better step up their game or be left behind in the dust!

  • Am I the only one who thinks this car is hideous? The rear end looks like a caveman with an underbite. And going by how the Elantra's fuel economy is (they share a platform) it wont get anywhere near the EPA estimates.

But I do have to admit, as much as I dislike the car, the rims with the colored inserts is pretty sweet.

  • That startup jingle is absolutely unnecessary and stupid. And I can't believe they're still using the same starter with that archaic sound.

  • @markkjay im with you. i hate that starter

  • @markkjay you can turn it off in the setting. Thank god lol

  • This would be great if it had an awd model...especially with the turbo....or do they?

  • @saabkyle04 can you please review the 2012 mercedes Ml?????

  • id have one of these.. although its not the turbo... great for fuel economy.. and great looks :)

  • You should do another Audi :)

  • according to cars dot comreview of the veloster.. they dislike the steering.... how is the steering of the veloster, some1 who has one plz answer.. is it fine? o should i believe cars dot com? steering is one big part of the driving experience.. its worth knowing..

  • Comment removed

  • Lol copy of the Focus's interior, also why such a small rear window?

  • uhhhgggg........ this car is awesome except for one thing, its missing a door, or it has an extra one, PICK HYUNDAI!!

  • @ccolivardia thats the interesting part.. different is cool :) traditional stuff get boring over time

  • @LordKevin92 yea i get that , but its a little to impractical for some people, not for city-goers, but for people who dont parralel park all the time

  • @ccolivardia yeah.. it all depends on what people need

  • Funny, the base model I have (black) comes with the word "Veloster" printed on both of the front seats, which makes it look very sporty and cool. I wonder if it varies by state?

  • @MariCruzdePanama , hi please could you advice the features on the base model. Thanks.

  • @wisenvoice

Go to the Hyundai website. Or a dealership.

  • @MariCruzdePanama - Thanks :) .... bought one! :)

  • Do u really have to hear that jingle every time u start the car? -_____-

  • @PrzPride922 fortunately no. A friend of mine has one and there's an option to turn it off in the options. Or even change it with a couple other chimes

  • @PrzPride922

I have only had it for a couple of months so I am still amused by it, but there is a way to turn it off, yes.

  • @PrzPride922 No haha, only if the car has been sitting for a while

  • @saabkyle04 how long is a while?

  • @saabkyle04 I know the Tech Velosters are equipped with a push button start on the dash. Do you know if the car comes with remote starter, in Base, Style, or Tech editions, if ordered with an automatic transmission? What was the 4 buttons on the remote with the Smart Key Access? Lock, Unlock, Trunk Release, Panic Alarm? Does the car automatically start if you hit the Lock button twice rapidly?

  • @saabkyle04

Wait i dont get it what do you mean sitting for a while?

  • @PrzPride922 Sounds like something out of a old 90s tv show! Gross!

  • @PrzPride922 There is a option to turn it off

  • Comment removed

  • @PrzPride922 It can be disabled. Then you no longer hear the jingle.

  • so many mods i can do with this....

  • @lilaznthug510 You prefer modding Hyundais over Hondas?

  • @th3m8ngtree u can mod any cars and yes ill mod hyundais there nice also i like hondas too but ill like to do something new...

  • Hyundai could EASILY drop the sonata's 2.0t engine in there and make a Veloster R-Spec...but hey, just my opinion.

  • I was actually considering to get this car, I wanted a fully loaded one with the DCT and Style and Tech Package. Sticker came to 23,310. I ended up just getting a Kia Forte 5-Door SX with the Leather, Sunroof, and Tech Package. The veloster has more bells and whistles on the interior and looks pretty stylish, but I wanted the extra grunt that the 2.4L that my SX has. Also, I prefer the more understated styling on the Forte.

  • Beautiful car !!! I would say it reminds me of the 2007 Acent SR. 4 wheel disc with abs, cold air induction ( cone shaped air filter ) , exhaust options, suspension options and strut tower brace. It was $19,000 and could hit $25000.

Hyundai is really improving on quality and reliability. The turbo version sounds like a rocket !!

Thanks for doing a great video !!

  • Why u don't an exclusive to the fully equip veloster?

  • Very nice car

  • This car is awesome, but sadly will suck in any type of winter weather.

  • all of this is standard

  • Very nice exterior and the nav system plus radio very intuitive to use! I gota admit had my doubts about hyundai but this car looks promising! Cant wait to see the turbo version!

  • ive seen a silver one around town :P veloster: my favorite hyundai :D

  • Looks good. I thought juke at first glance. Cant wait to test one out

  • i dont like the holes in the front fenders. bad for the cx

  • Sport cars just don't look like this.

  • how ironic while im watching this theres comercial about it on tv..

  • so does this count as a sports car?

  • brbrbrbrbrbrbrb NANA NA NA... NANA NA NA NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

  • красавица

  • What is up with that annoying music upon startup? WOW!

  • @zzoot you can turn it off in the setting

  • at 3:53, you refer to it as the accent. Rookie mistake..... jk, great reviews. I love this car.

  • can the start up music be turned off? i think it is annoying after a few times
