As mentioned, Jesus did state he in fact WAS the Messiah, but only to Peter. He told Peter not to tell anyone else until he died. He did not even tell Pilate to save himself, because it was God's will for Jesus to die so people may be saved. This touches on the Holy Trinity, and how Jesus was fully human and fully divine, but those are two other cases.
He told Peter not to say he was a Messiah because Peter and everyone else was claiming such.
Someone had to fullfill the God instituted false prophet.
He never told Peter anthing you claimed. Till his death Jesus denied he was the messiah. "you say I am"
He did say get behind me Satan. Satan was on the ground as Jesus witnessed his falling to earth. Satan was making deals in the dessert and Jesus comes back doing miracles. Do the math.
Woah woah, hold on. Soapbox is first explaining the answers in support to Christianity in the other vids, and now he's enying it? You had me going as a supporter, but you made a mistake. Jesus told others he is not the Messiah because he wanted them to figure out for themselves who he was. Secondly, he came to free the sinners, not save the righteous. Read from the New Testament, and you will see he came and stayed at the houses of criminals while righteous people were outraged. {Continued}
Jesus was suprised that there was one who figured out who he was. It was a soldier who saw Jesus as the warrior. Jesus healed this non-Jewish man's servant.
Jesus stayed with the evil ones and spoke to Satan not God like a prophet should.
Jesus fullfilled the curses of the bible - read them. To "cast a fire on the earth" and "to burn up the chaff" with war.
To be friends with God's enemies is not something the Bible ever supported. A curse is when your eneimies are promoted by God.
"Jeus" may not have been but Jesus was and stated very clearly that He was (just not to Pilate), all of which was prophesied accurately/precisely by the Old Testament prophets. People want proof that the Bible is true? The many fulfilled prophecies are part of that proof.
You apparently don't know what the Bible says nor do you believe what just about everyone knows it says.
What makes more sense to you- That the universe happened all by itself or was created by a supernatural force?
Show me one Messiah prophecy that matches. Just one. ...and make sure you read it in context. That means reading the paragraphs before and after and asking yourself "did that happen"
When Jesus said that he meant the prophecy of the false prophet and the prophesy of the punishement and curses. These need to be fullfilled. War is one of those curses and Jesus said he came for that.
Jesus said himself he was not the Messiah several times witnessed by several people.
Nothing Jesus did was prophecised under messiah prophecy. Not one prophecy. Show me one.
Jesus does not match and denies he is the messiah. Check the context closely, it is not interpretation, it is the context of everything he is saying. He is not the messiah of peace.
God created our world. I know exactly what the Bible says.
We have only TWO real choices: 1) Believe in something that is (granted) hard to believe- a Creator who is unseen, or 2) Believe in the IMPOSSIBLE- that life, the universe and its complexity came from nothing all on its own. Given those two choices, the intelligent, rational person MUST opt for the thing that is "hard to believe".
Atheism explains nothing. Christianity explains everything. What is the LOGICAL choice between those two?

The wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.

Christianity?!
You didn't pay attention. Jeus said he is not the Messiah. Talk about impossible to believe religion.
Both atheists and Christians are living in a phantasy land.
