THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY EMBARRASSING! let got pushed to the side lines by county/LAUSD, Now let me get on LA port police WHICH AGAIN there's no reason for their existence if their governed by an existing police department LAPD/harbor, I got 1 that really drove me nutts since I was 10.. ATHENS, WTF were they thinking GIVE IT TO GPD what a huge waste of the sheriffs existence not to mention lennox, GIVE IT TO INGELWOOD my god, who the hell designed these city zones!?! etc i can go on for days

lets examine this a little closer, Harbor hospital is in the CITY of (Los Angeles) partroled by LAPD-Harbor, theirfore it SHOULD be governed by the CITY within common sence right? LACP is also a sub-divition of LAUSD, they govern the county schools WHICH AGAIN makes NO sence at all, we all remember the GARDENA school shooting right? ok lets dig deeper, if Gardena HS is within the CITY of Gardena, why EXACTLY arnt they allowed to govern their own school?

no disrespect to the LACP but your agency is a REAL joke! lets understand a few things here, 1st off this is EXACTLY why 1 of many reasons our state is in so much debt, funding ABSOLUTELY UNNECESSARY services, the same goes for "LA general Police" your department is responsible for "SECURITY" duties in unincorporated city zone of LA country, so lets be honest here it's called "ARMED SECURITY" not... POLICE, our state had approved the "Title" police for what reason EXACTLY?

they did start as security but i seen la county police on traffic stops, making arrest and assist other departments and they had be be post cert

ALOTTA PEOPLE THINK THAT.....I DONT HAVE A PROB WITH THEM...BUT THEY HAS ALOTTA SECURITY GUARD TYPE COPS.....AND THEY DIDNT WORK WHAT YOU WOULD THINK ARE NORMAL POLICE AREAS......THEY WOKED COUNTY PARKS.....HOSPITALS.....AND BUILDING. ALOTTA SECURITY DETAILS ......SO OTHER AGENCIES THAT KNEW THEM KINDA LOOKED DOWN ON THEM. I KNOW A FEW FORMER COUNTY POLICE AND THEY EVEN SAID THAT ABOUT THEIR OWN AGENCY

they were a specialized police agency that evolved from a security department.

alotta of their police were not law enforcement capable. when they were absorbed by the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Dept.....only about 3 or 4 out of every ten were lateraled over...... if thath...maybe even less. the rest lost their guns and badges.....that really sucked for them.

@PrimericaVeryBroke - again,NOT true( which is why there is a lawsuit pending) many of them were buds of mine- LASD used prior disciplinary and health issues to "DQ" those officers( one was a simple as he reported a domestic argument- no violence- with his wife when he was on probation- 10 yrs ago!!!)- hypocritically, some of the stuff LASD DQ'd county OPS cops for ,they wouldn't remove their own people from duty( like excessive DUI's, excessive force, domestic violence)- it was about POLITICS!

back in1999 the assocation of the county police officer (union) sued the county of pay rate and the judge ruled that they are techelly "sheriff's deputies" and they are now being merged in to lasd

@CSILCPD The LA County Police was its own law enforcement agency. It was formed in 1998 when the county merged 3 different agencies together. Their primary duties were patrolling county owned parks, hospitals, and other select county buildings. They were never deputies. Most other agencies used to jokingly call them the "park police." For years Sheriff Lee Baca wanted them gone and in 2009 the county supervisors agreed and had the LASD take them over. FYI most officers were not hired by the LASD
