whenever i look up a fish mouth parasite, it's only THIS! my fish has some sort of strange THING inside of its mouth, and it wasn't there before! i don't know, i think somehow my fish had the parasite growing in it for a while. it doesn't match this parasite; it's kind of slim, and it looks like it has hairs on it, organized like a fish's fins, but without that sort of "elastic" thing which connects the "lines" on a fin together. can anybody help me?

crazy!! I just found TWO of those things in two Moi fish that i caught on the north shore of Maui HI. its a tongue eating parasite! It floats in thru the gills of the fish, begins to eat the fishes tongue and then BECOMES the tongue!!! Its the only parasite that can actually become an organ of its host and the craziest part is, the fish can stay alive, for years! The parasite lives off the blood and mucus of the fish!
