  • The only thing about this movie that I didn't really like was the narration. It wasn't really necessary to understand the story or what was going on. I feel like everything after the death of Charlie could have been summed up with some shots of Robert moving on, living life and eventually being killed. You could have done all that without dialogue. Just have some of this amazing music playing over it. Maybe with a text card at the end with some of the info on it.

  • great music i like the fact that it keeps carrying on and on like repetetive and that things keep adding on to the main tune like at o:16 the harmonica.

  • This is the only film that I've ever heard so many people agreeing on about it being 'the best film ever'. That shows just how powerful it is, yet it is so underrated. Andrew Dominik has made a film that is perfect and yet people won't watch it. It just shows how the spew of rom-coms and hollywood bull has corrupted people into rejecting proper cinema for quickly made crap. I hope Dominik releases the original cut, the 4 1/2 hour version.

  • @AllyVR I don't see that happening sadly since this movie was a major flop, but I hope by some miracle it does happen.

  • @Seargent363 It's sad that this film never reached it's full potential box office or awards wise. Apparently, this is Brad Pitt's favourite film starring himself. Says a lot as he's been in some huge films especially in the last decade.

  • My best movie

  • Beautiful song

  • I cried when Jesse was assassinated btw!

  • this song is rather lovely

  • there is no class in the outlaws like there was in jesse james :)

  • Great movie but the score did it for me.

  • I missed this movie on it's original release, which is really too bad because it was the best movie of 2007. Great cinematography, one of the greatest scores for a western I've ever heard.

  • @jackclark101 Yeah, its rare that a movie like this ever comes out. Every movie that comes out now now is crap, made all with CGI, low budget, and horrible acting. There needs to be more movies like this.

  • Wonderful.

  • I love this song, it's beautiful.

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

  • made me even feel empathy ford Bob Ford. best movie i ever seen in years,

  • up there with the godfather for me

  • Keep on riding, outlaws.

  • Nick Cave & Warren Ellis are great!!!

  • That's the thing with classics, they are rarely regarded as such when they appear. A beautifully crafted and thoughtful film with memorable central performances.

  • One of the most underrated films ever, but that's ok with me because it'll remain with the fans. An absolute masterpiece.

  • 3 people should... Oh, I don't even want to bother. There's no way to describe such people.. it's beyond comprehension that someone could dislike this.

  • I'm trying to find this out by ear on piano, though I can never live up to it's massive beauty.. there is no way quite possible.

  • i was in complete silence during the whole film

  • I say anyone that deslikes this video makes it clear on the page so we can respond...don't be a coward!

  • It's amazing how all these songs have a whole new feeling and all new emotions every time i listen to a deffrent song from the sound track!

  • I nearly closed the internet when I saw not 1, not 2, but 3 people had disliked this..

  • This Is Soooooooo BEAUTIFUL !!!

  • I agree fuck avatar

  • i blast this when i play red dead redemption

  • Captivating.

  • amazing film and soundtrack

  • Lovely

  • i love this song...it sounds so southern.

  • ce morceaux et d'une beautée envoutante je l'adore il est magnifique

  • 3 or more people are rather ugly.

  • I just adore this piece of music, totally stunning.

  • this western has probably the greatest acting and music of all time

but i believe the western Appaloosa was more realistic.

Appaloosa, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, and Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee are my favorite westerns of all time

  • @calebinoutlook No offense, but it sounds like you need to see more films. They're all good ones, to varying degrees, but there are much better westerns out there...

  • @jesuslivesinmytoilet well most westerns are older. like from the 80s and before. and sure they can be good but i don't like watching any of those more than once really. the oldest i'll usually go to watch over and over is 1990.

  • @calebinoutlook 'once upon a time in the west' . . . thts a fab western

  • @jacktheincredible01 ok. im not gonna watch it now just because u called it "fab"

  • @calebinoutlook lol my bad . . . the gay take over sometimes . . . EPIC!

  • @calebinoutlook What about The Exorcist or The Godfather?

  • @krosbone well i won't ever see any of the Exorcist cause i hate them. and never seen The Godfather either. i just never get around to it. but like i said. i sometimes watch movies from back then, but usually not more than once because the acting just wasn't as good in my opinon. sure there are some with amazing acting. but for the most part, old movies seem to be very cheesy and corny.

  • @calebinoutlook That's a terrible attitude to have about movies. The whole point of a great movie is that it has a timeless quality. It shouldn't matter if it's old or not. By the way, The Searchers is the greatest western of all time.

  • @wolfpack2013 is just that when i watch old movies, they are almost always cheesy and corny. there are some good ones but most of the time they aren't as good to me. and thats ur opinion of the greatest western ever.

  • @calebinoutlook You're just not watching the right ones. Movies can be "cheesy" today too if they're not well made. The Searchers is the greatest western. That's a fact.

  • @wolfpack2013 again. saying The Searchers is a great movie is an opinion. im not saying its not good, cause i haven't seen it. but no matter how much you like a movie, everyone has their own opinion on it

like Avatar for example. almost everyone says its the best movie ever. they would say "Avatar is amazing. tas fact"

its not fact. its opinion. cause personally i hate the movie Avatar. the plot was very cliche. the only good thing about it was the special effects.thats it. the rest sucked

  • I this the Nick Cave of "Red Right Hand"?

  • @SiouxSweep Yes it is.

  • y'know all reviews are is one persons opinion.some journalist who writes for this or that magazine give it 5/10 and its "such and such"magazine suddely have this hold on the movie and dictate whether its good or bad.this is a fantastic film..one of the greatest ever made..great art moves you and this does it in spades..you cant put youre finger on this movie..its magical..

  • This movie is pure art and the music is absolutely amazing. i don't care what anybody says or writes about it honestly because i know what i took away from it and that's all that matters to me. This movie is stunning...the western cousin to Apocalypse Now and i agree 100%...the music really made this movie even more stellar. If i ever met Brad Pitt or Caset Affleck in person, all i would talk about is this movie

  • Bad reviews for a film like this come from people without a true understanding of film, a true understanding of art in general even. I think 2007 brought us two artistic masterpieces in the context of film - There Will Be Blood and this. I think both films are beautiful, whilst also being gritty and dark of course.

  • @SpikevsDracula i totally agree..i remember watching no country for old men, there will be blood and jesse james close to each other and thinking "ive just seen my three favourite films in one year".i told everyone..all my friends, family to watch these films.

in 20/30 years time these films will be classics of cinema..in the top 20 all time films.bet ya!

  • I don't think I've ever seen a movie this beautiful... Roger Deakins' cinematography was a revelation. If I watched the film on mute, and it would feel like a visual orgasm. With my eyes closed, it is an auditory dream. I don't think I've ever been so artistically impressed by the singular achievement of each component of a film.

  • @Muybuena well put!

  • @Muybuena Interesting. To watch it on mute without this haunting soundtrack, must be a visual experience. I agree the cinematography is impressive, but the music haunts my soul a touch more than the films visual aspects. On mute is something I will try for a moment of calm... Great idea!!!

  • @Muybuena Fuckin' aye

  • every part of this movie, from the casting to the costuming, is a masterpiece! how awesome would it have been to be in a room with the masterminds of this beautiful film!?

  • by far best soundtrack ive ever heard. the movie simply would not be same without it. absolutely beautiful

  • at least an oscar for movie with the best soundtrack <3

  • Truly terrific-how could anyone come up with such a sensationall piece of music.

  • this soundtrack never gets old. I love every single song. ugh

  • I really wanted to see those guys accept a statue, but they probably didn't show up. Something tells me they're going to get nominated several more times.

  • I still can't believe this score didn't win an Oscar. The whole thing should just win an Oscar every year from now on. It's almost a guarantee that it will be better than anything else nominated ever again.

  • @urbanr0cker haha. After years of watching the AA with great enthusiasm, I now mostly watch them for all the stars and speeches and movie clips. I've learned to realize the "BEST" Oscar rarely goes to the one who truly deserves it.

  • LOOOOONG LIVE THIS GLORIOUS MOVIE

  • The best movie of my life I've ever seen.

  • Great soundtrack!

  • Best soundtracks ever: The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, The Road, The Proposition, The Thin Red Line, The Dark Knight and Batman Begins.

  • Ive listened to all of Nick Caves soundtracks, but somehow, I always come back to this song. This defenitly Caves and Warrens masterpiece!

  • this is one of my favourite scenes in the film..music is haunting and beautiful..love the camera shot as well..i'd love that as a picture in a frame on the railtracks..what i love about this film is that the setting, the times its meant to be set in is totally believable..a lot of films set in days gone by look like a bunch actors in oldfashioned clothes pretending..ie..changeling..but this film reels you in and you become immersed in the whole thing

  • <33 Love it

  • again shocked that even music wasnt nominated ,as all know probably the most underrated movie of last decade ,waiting for dominik's next

  • Thank you so much for this

  • This movie is beautiful

  • One of the best movies ever made. Unfolds at its own pace and really draws you in to the characters and story.

  • So fucking thought-provoking.

  • Im 24. I love films, but even the saddest ones dont make me cry. This is not a macho thing either, im way to honest for that, films just move me in other ways. But this.... I swear, i watch this alone when my girlfriend is out on the weekend or sometimes of an evening, and i basically cry my heart out the whole way through. It gets inside you and etches itself onto your heart, and it cant be escaped, the movie and the music both.

  • @BoraHorza47 good, strong sign of your humanity, feeling is important, beautiful film.

  • Beautiful... Just beautiful

  • awesome..

  • WOOHOO!!!!!!! JESSE JAMES BEATS AL CAPONE! Yeah!

  • This movie is poetry, this movie is silence, this movie is hearing and seeing, not everybody can't understand, not everybody is ready to this....It is like watching a good painting. I think the movie is honest and different which is quite enough in these times. My english is not good enough to express what I felt when I heard this song, incredible

  • Very nice song! Can anyone help me out on finding the tab for that song please?

  • @SebScoFr Can't help with the tab, but I figured out the chords: A part alternates between F#m7 and F#m; B part is D-C#-F#m-G-D-C#-D-A. (That G chord is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard!) One of those songs that when you got it figured out, you just sit there and play it all day and forget about your damn day job . . .

  • For me, the best song on the best soundtrack of the best movie ever made . . .

  • one of my favorite movies

  • Notice that in the end, they try to make Robert Ford look like the bad guy. He killed a murderer, and is treated like a criminal rather than a hero. "I was expecting an applause" - Robert Ford. Instead of getting an applause or at least a thank you for avenging my relatives death, Robert gets a shotgun to the face by a man who

  • @xxnutcreamxx

I hear you nutcream. But Robert was a criminal him self, and theres no way he

would get any credit in most parts in the U.S for killing Jesse.

He probably wanted respect, something he didnt get in life. And the way he killed Jesse wasnt gonna help him getting it.

  • Notice that at the end of the movie, society tries to make Robert Ford look like the bad guy when really he was just trying to end all of the gnarled confusion by killing Jesse. And how do people react "i was expecting an applause" - Robert Ford, when really he ended up getting a shot gun to the face. Revenge, says the man? Wrong, it was murder.

  • Robert Ford layed poor jesse in his grave.....

  • OMG, my son, somethingclever2007, introduced me to this song. what a heart-breaker....

  • @uemciicmeuyou have my respect

  • Thanks, omuploii:-)

  • i live in kearney, the town where jesse was born. i listened on my way home as i passed the james farm, hit me deeply

  • @somethingclever2007 Wow. I wish I had that opportunity to see where the man was born. Breathtaking film.

  • the Song "money train" is good, and these songs are from the civil war

  • chills every time with this song.

  • Your videos should be the template for all OST's on youtube.

Exactly how they should be done. Congratulations to you and keep up the great work.

  • Masterpiece movie and soundtrack. I thought the movie was going to be bad too cause I never heard much about it.

Got to be a film lover to enjoy it.

  • robert ford layed poor jesse in his grave with his family about....man o man cowards how long will i stay with u ;<

  • Does anyone know a song that sounds similar to this one; it has kind of the same violin progression. I heard it in chipotle tonight and its driving me crazy. It basically sounded like this song but with lyrics, and I think it even is from a movie...

  • good drinkin music im a buy it wow greatness

  • congratulations for nick and warren for this soundtrack... its epic awesome :)

counting the stars is my fav

  • epic

  • Beaufitul song for beautiful and great movie!

  • Iwant to learn how to play this on the violin so badly

  • song for jesse is also impressive. and this

  • This and "what must be done" are my favorite tracks.

  • I could listen to Warren Ellis play all day, seriously. Stunning

  • why dont u buy the album like most people do and support the artists, the 5 unreleased songs were available for free on here in the comments section

  • awesome!,

thanks for the info man =D,

omg, i love this music sooo f**kin' much XD,

people just don't know shit about music these days,

this soundtrack should have won an oscar.. or at least been nominated for one,

    wtf Hollywood!?!?

  • buy the cd online and stop being cheap

  • Comment removed

  • @thomasbaron06 BUY IT YOU THIEF!

  • some films are bigger than life... this is one of them!nick cave gives his best and proves that oscars don't count a shit (xcuse my french)

  • Absolutley fantastic film. Grows and grows on me every time i watch it. So moving and pure . The soundtrack fits perfectly....ahhh 5 stars ,

  • Is there any words to describe this music?

I have never seen a movie that made such a huge impact on me. This one has become my #1!

  • Trailers were in movie theaters. Hollywood did not think people loved the old Jesse James. They are afraid of seeing modern day Robin Hoods. Plain, but simple.

Great movie. I own this and love it. Cowards are always forgotten, so be aggresive in life to get what you want. Girl, Job, Car, whatever it is.

  • I watches this on DVD the other day and I absolutely loved it... But why is it I didn't see and trailers or heard about it when it came out in cinema???

  • because it's a slowly paced film that ADD america fidgets and suffers through.

  • so true

  • i get goose pimples everytime i hear the score of this film

  • Same here, I listen to it while doing yoga practice.

  • i dont understand how this movie got some bad reviews....its one of my all time favs and the music is unbelievably good

  • I agree with you 100%!This is one of the best movies of all time! And best soundtrack ever!

But i didn't hear bad reviewes!

Do you, please, can send me links to places where the film received bad criticism? To see what they could to provide a good spot this fantastic movie!

    Anyway this movie is best!

  • I love this film, a lot, but it's slow pace might infuriate some and break the patience of others(I can understand that), I guess that's why it ended up being a massive financial loss (and no marketing) costing 30 million and getting back only 3 million. It might, I hope it does, become a cult film though.

  • yea, it seems to have the fate of Blade Runner. Slow pace, but eventually becoming a cult film in the cyber punk genre and sci-fi movies in general.

    Both brilliant movies

  • Rather Lovely indeed.....sigh....

  • it wasnt even nominated for the score:O

  • Academy sukcs! ;)

  • Yeah I hear that mate.

  • This film is fucking unbelieveably good. I wana be a cowboy

  • Great movie, awsome soundtrack, and the way Casey Affleck played his character was even better.

  • This song is what i call a rather lovely thing.

  • My husband couldn't follow the story line because he kept asking "Who's playing that music?"

    I'm certainly buying this CD.

  • I dont know how many Nick Cave and Warren Ellis got for making this soundtrack but they should've gotten more.

  • Same here, the soundtrack is absolutely incredible.

  • It is a shame this film has had some bad reviews. None of that matters though.

  • dont read reviews Trust your fukin mind and all will fall into place

  • Every film has bad reviews, though — and this one received a LOT of praise from solid critics (Ebert, etc.) The people that called it boring have no attention span for gorgeous films like this or the ones Terry Malick does.

  • That's absolutely true. It's just a shame films that get the best reviews are so main stream. There is nothing new in them, another comedy, another romance, another horror... This film was a breath of fresh air I thought.

  • This is one the best soundtrack of all times, along with amelie, goobbye lennin, gattaca and the thin red line.

  • Contemplating on a day where the sun is setting, and so it tints the light in your bedroom a subtle reddish color and you lay on you bed, and breathe in...out...

  • One of the best films ive seen this year, Brad Pitt played this character perfectly. The music is fucking awesome too, proper cowboy style. Deep film.

  • Jesse probably had special meaning to Brad, who is also a famous Missourian.

  • Did Casey Affleck not get 'Best Actor'.....Extremely Good Film!!One of my all time Favourites

  • music by itself deserve a fucking oscar

  • @Scyllllla It did win an oscar?

  • Pitt's best performance...ever! seriously though, this film, I go back to it so many times, never fails to make me tear up or think about life. Great great film. Underrated, yet appreciated too. Love it.

  • best "western" ever

almost Best OST EVER (Yann Tiersen - Amelie #1)

  • CHILLS. i got em.

man, this movie was so underrated on all accounts. but that's ok, still can appreciate it.

  • I agree man.....Pitt didn't get nearly enough credit for this movie

  • if you downloaded these songs could you send me the links please. thanks

  • The most beautiful song I've ever heard!

  • One of my favorite OST song of all time. Very emotional.

  • By far the best movie ever made about Jesse James.

  • This OST is one of the best....and the saddest...

  • oh lovely

  • the music of glory!!!

  • How the hell did this not win?
