Sigh...it's so sad how you only find out how great a performer is until it's too late...such an old school kind of guy, I would have loved to see him vs colt in those matches. 12 Large brother, RIP Larry Sweeney
God...You always find out about the personal issues of great performers when it's already too late. Apparently Larry suffered from some pretty bad bi-polar disorder. I love how he brought back the 1940's glitz and glamor bad guy, with a heavy does of his own unique brand of humor. If there's a heaven, I'm sure he's dropping 12 large on someone.
I've been out of the loop with wrestling lately and only heard about his passing literally minutes ago. I'm crushed. He was always my favorite guy to come out of Chikara and to hear that his entirely-too-short life has come to such a tragic end is sickening. I don't think I've ever had a wrestling death affect me this much.
Such a waste of limitless talent and potential. A truly unique performer, they broke the mold when they made Larry Sweeney.
It's tragic for all of us because we all really knew him. As low as his lows obviously were, his highs were so high. I deal with it by acting like him. RIP, buddy.
RIP Larry Sweeney. This hit me very very hard. He was without a doubt one of the most entertaining wrestlers I've ever seen. Live he was just great to watch.
Man, that was a hell of a tribute...For me, this is the worst wrestling death since Mr. Perfect, Owen Hart and Miss Elizabeth.....This is such a tragedy....
Maybe ROH should have kept him around doing something, maybe he would still be alive today. Such a talented guy and a class act all the way. 12 Large brother!
@sxe1980 Chris Hero said the reason they took him off the shows (which led to him quiting) was because they thought being on the shows and all the traveling was adding to his problems
he was always fantastic on the mic and always made you laugh, at the age of 29 s such a huuuge loss to his friends and family and then the wrestling world
In a better world, this man would've been KING. In a just world, ten years from now this man would have been on the same level as Jim Cornette and Bobby Heenan.
There's hope around any given corner. Suicide is not the answer.
I can honestly say that I was entertained every single time I watch a match or segment involving Larry Sweeney. I remember watching some of his matches and thinking "Is this guy losing it or is it just a great acting job?" I really didn't want this to be the answer.
RIP Larry. You'll forever be missed by all the true wrestling fans. Such a sad loss. I know you were dealing with tons of personal problems and it really sucks you went out the way you did, so young, too. Thanks for all the entertainment you gave. Such a great man.

I must see that Sweeney/Cabana match in it's entirety. Anyone know which FIP DVD it's on?

Sweeney was a rare breed. Even at a bingo hall, with a crowd of 3 people, he gave it all he had. He really had potential.
Rest In Peace, Larry Sweeney. I hope you found the peace you were looking for.
