  • nice

  • @EstudoVida Actually, it's in eastern France, 30km south Lyon. I was there this night, one of my best music memories... This place is the best for music, a roman theatre, dug in the hill. A french singer said that being on this stage is like being in front of a "wall of humanity" (un mur d'humanité). The artists are so happy to play there that most of them do one of their best shows ever. I saw there H Hancock, Shakti, Al Foster, McFerrin,Paco De Lucia, McCoy Tyner, McLaughlin, Diane Reeves...

  • I WANT THIS CONCIERT!!!!!!!!! WHERE IS

  • Incredible!

  • I've been a guitarist for 30 years and personally heard Bireli at my college and he played for us in person. Bireli is the most versatile guitarist and bassist musician I have found. There are very few musicians that can phrase and even compare. Bireli is a true prodegy. He is super advanced. Yes he can play very fast but her is very musical. There are better musicians out there as far as harmony and theory but few can combine the whole skill set as well as Bireli.

  • @roneill1234 I really agree with your last statements. On a theoretical standpoint, Bireli probably couldn't tell you the best way to accompany a piece of music, or how to make the prettiest sound, but he could out-do you on creativity and versatility. On the other hand, some of his solos really push it in terms of what is appropriate for the genre.

  • Whats the difference between gypsy guitars and ohter guitars....?

  • the sound whole, and the looks. and heavy strings

  • @Jesse4ManBob Actually, the strings are very light on these guitars. They are designed for 10-45 or 11-47 gauge strings. The strings are silver-plated copper over steel, or silk & steel. Some of the modern (non-traditional) mass produced reproductions work well with heavy strings, but the true old guitars (or good reproductions like these guys are playing) use light strings. Well, Dorado is playing a '50s Castellucia, but the others are reproductions. Looks like a Dupont, a Gallato & an Eimers.

  • @Jesse4ManBob Haha... oops. Tchavolo, Dorado & Stochelo are not on this song and so their Gallato, Eimers & Dupont guitars are not on this vid though they did play in this concert. But Bireli is playing a Dupont Vielle Reserve & I can't see Thomas' guitar clearly. I heard he inherited a Selmer from his dad but have never seen him play one. But his family is very big in French jazz so whatever he's playing it's likely a nice rig.

  • this is so french! love eeeet.

  • Who is the Violinist :O????!?!??!?!

  • Florin Nicolescu is.

  • ended too early.

  • "Babik" ! trop bien !

  • bravo bireli tu est le meilleur

  • Le meilleur. Musique De phase. Observez et souscrivez.

  • bravo bireli t le meilleur continue comme ça

  • Beware - this wasn´t in Vienna but in Vienne in France (it´s every year´s traditional jazz gypsy festival - one of the greatest)..

  • Bireli is the greatest guitarist I ever heard. He can play ANY style and his rhythems are as great as his single not solos. This guy can do it all but remains so musical. He is a rare and special gift to the music world. Can someone tell me, is he deceased? I sure hope not, I just discovered him.

  • Man, can we have a GPS on these guys? I heard Birelli is deceased. So, who is taking up the guitar in his place?

  • Joscho Stephane will.

  • joscho will but not a patch on bireli, tchavolo, stochelo or debarre, there way out of his league but he will in years to come.

  • Joscho is pretty ridiculous...and I'm not just talking about his chops(which is unreal) but the color of his playing...if you understand...he will be one of the best gypsy guitarists if not already ...

  • the beginning and parts of that sound like birdland suite

  • How is Joscho Stephan recieved in the European gypsy jazz scene? I know that he's more of a technical flashy player but you have to admit that his tone quality is nice on the ears.

  • people like him here, its a hard scene to crack in europe thee are amazeing players everywere here but he is certenly liked ,the key is get your own sound and the own iders ,when i here amrican and canadan players thay mostly just play europen players licks but in way it dont quite work .once thay have been dome then thay have been done joscho has his own iders he made be flash and to much for some people but hes origanal but still playing gypsy jazz

  • Bireli is amazing, no doubt, but he gravitates towards this progressive be-bop influenced style... I'll take Wes Montgomery any day over Bireli playing that style. Fapy and Dorado have more of that true Django sound..more melody oriented.

  • I'm not saying that one is better than the other, but when it comes to fast flashy playing, Doug Seven has way catchier and melodic runs and licks. Most of you like Birelli's fast playing; if you want real Gypsy jazz then listen to Fapy Lafertin or Dorado Schmitt.

  • Yeah. This is Gypsy Jazz. A totally different type of music. I am so hooked on this Django stuff. Great stuff.

  • doug seven doesn't own bireli or vice versa. it's two totally different styles. you competitive fucks should give it a rest.

  • amazing o.O

  • check out Doug Seven on YOUTUBE if you like flashy guitar playing....he ownes Bireli!

  • thanks for the tip :)

  • i checked it out, and he plays on an el-guitar... that's way much easier! i know

  • fuckin great !!

  • brilliant!

  • WOW O_O JUST AMAZING.
