The english are made to look like such a bunch of weasels in this film lol, if that was the case howcome they took control and not the scots irish or welsh? All four countries had brave fierce and honorable men and it was together that they were the strongest. Not alone
makes you wonder how many people died fighting each other like this.
I went to Scotland once. It rained non-stop & I my toes were frostbitten. The people are stoney-faced and drunken and continually curse the English. The only food is haggis which is being hunted to extinction. Everyone is either obese or has MS. I was attacked by a swarm of midges & was thrown out of a pub for saying the Loch Ness Monster did't exist. I couldn't sleep at night due to the non-stop bagpiping. I am never going back.
he clearly wasnt focusing on being historicly accurate. the reason people watch this video is because it does a good job at simulating a famous battle scene in an academy award winning movie. find a better way to try to show off how smart you think you are
@ab6074 Someone prob made one already but i just found my old copy of the game i'll make and upload a version of each major historical battle the best i can lol.
@Zebonka....I think he means 'THE ISLE OF SKYE. & by the way we're not retards, Zebonka, we also live in this 'supposed' real world your in at the moment, & to be quite honest, what's so special about yours. No need to be nasty, we have a bridge
I'll try to make it simple for you : the video is called 'Battle of Stirling'. There was a bridge at the Battle of Stirling, a very important bridge - without which, Wallace and Moray wouldn't have had a chance of winning the battle.
There is no bridge in this video. Therefore, the uploader is clearly retarded.
I was up at Stirling last week, I stood on the fields of Bannockburn and shuddered to think what had happened there all those years ago.... Makes me proud to be a Scotsman. ALBA GU BRATH.
medieval total war is a good game said by a portuguese!and the scotish are people who had less than the english people but they are so strong that they win!
True battle was on a bridge near Stirling. However even then the Scots would not have won if it weren't for the French knights which for some reason aren't in the Braveheart, but I suppose that film is so historically inaccurate it aint worth taking seriously, its just a good war film.
@gaconnochie Sorry Scots were not British until that terrible day in 1707. Its a mistake made far to often by historians. Even the English would never have dreamed of calling themselves British before that so called union.
@MrSPECTRUM7 That was actually my point - though I maybe didn't put it very well! The poster equated the English with 'the British'. None were British in a political sense as that was still hundreds of years off. They were both British in the strictly geographical sense that they all resided on the island of Britain. Though I agree with you that they wouldn't have identified themselves that way.
Besides, the concept of "freedom" as a right in and of itself probably didn't exist in the 1200s when this was supposed to take place. Good old Hollywood putting in modern values and changing history so its "politically correct". As for the bridge, Mel Gibson said it was simply too dangerous for his stuntmen to film the fight he wanted on a bridge, so there.
@vanjamenadzer i wasn't talking about where the movie was made , i was refuring to the fact that fucking Hollywood hates to use factual events in its movies
@Annasavi I perfectly understand why they would remove the bridge... I mean, it's an easy victory for the scots, the just attacked when the english were most vulnerable. A battle like that is not very exciting.
@Annasavi personaly, I Think the Bridge thing was awesome, it was just imposibble and too difficult to record so they just made it like it is...to bad
In the battle of stirlin brig, we lost men, in 1707 we lost the fuckin plot, we need more from our country, and its coming, lib dems talk if allowed, cons, still conning, Labour biggest traitors ever on planet, scots, judjmental, but on top of all this, And Norway has 500 Billion US Dollars in the bank for fun, hey i live in drumchapel and work in easterhouse, we need less than 1% of that money
@Annasavi Actually, I heard it was because of film complications around the real stirling bridge, and even in 1995, films weren't as developed. If it were made earlier, it would probably have been around the real bridge.
@JoshuaWGLloyd Not really. Stirling was in 1297, in 1298, Wallace fought again but lost and went into hiding in Ireland. He came back in 1305 but was betrayed and sentenced to death (as we all know). Robert Bruce managed to become king of Scotland in 1306 and lucky for him, the english king Edward I died in 1307 and his son, Edward II, wasn't quite as "good" as the father and lost the battle of Bannockburn (1314), which resulted into Scotland being independant for several centuries.
@JoshuaWGLloyd Well actually no they didn't win the war! They defeated Wallace eventually but that was only the early stages of the first War of Independence. The English were then driven out of most of Scotland, bar a couple of castles near the border, by Robert the Bruce. The wars went on for decades but eventually England recognised the legitimacy of the Scottish monarchy!
@Mr25ir NO! There were truths. Each truth the English backed off across the bridge. On the third as the English backed off Wallace(through impatience) attacked while most of the English were on the other side. The english on the opposite side rushed to support but the bridge collapsed under the weight. Many english drowned or were caught by the scots as the outnumbered force.
