I don't see what everyone is getting so worked up about. Having the faster car is always about how much money you want to spend so what the cars do from the factory or with light mods is in no way the only deciding factor between the two for me. I could make 1300hp with both of these cars and then Underground Racing Cars passes me in one of their 1500hp Lambos. Money is the name of this game. Not brand. Someone will always be faster. @afgandominator Believe me, as much as I respect the Terminator... if you forge an LS3 rotating assembly and run equal boost between that and a Terminator, the LS3 would win simply because of cubes. A Terminator needs a blower swap and 17psi to hit 600whp. An LS1 with better internals only needs maybe 12 or 13 to make that much. LS's are popular N/A projects, but when people build them for boost they're nasty. Only way the Termi is fast is with boost lets be honest. It has my respect though.

Ha! There is a reason why GM stopped making Camaro's after 2002, and Ford continued Mustang productions non-stop since April of 1964 and 1/2...GM couldn't figure it out. The new Camaro's look too "retro" and it looks like a chop-top to me. Out of all the muscle-cars, I would put the Camaro in 3rd behind the Challenger and Mustang, as far as looks go anyway. Camaro is too heavy and GM needs to figure something out fast. I say drop the Camaro and just bring back the Chevelle! Lol

@sojer6mile You have your facts completely wrong... First off the 4.6L in the 210 mustang GT was a 3 valve engine with VVT unlike the 2 valve that ford used before. It shares many parts but was a huge redesign of the original 2 valve 4.6. Secondly the GT500 came out in 2007 which was years before both the 2010 Camaro SS and the 5.0 coyote came out. and Lastly, how the fuck is your 87 305 IROC beating SRT8s? I had a 91 z28 with the 5.7 L98 that couldn't beat a SRT8 charger when they came out....

I agree with SharkCityProductions....my 2006 GT has out ran many a 2010-2012 Camaro SS and I have a stock 4.6L V8....I have even walked a green 2010 Camaro SS down and beat them...they are nice cars but too heavy and take forever to reach top speed...and I have had my ass stompped by a 2003 Cobra that was stock...the motor that is in the Cobras was later put in the 2007 Shebly GT500's but with a 550 HP rating.
@LimeStangGt Well you just gave yourself away right there, the only Stock mustang in production from 2005 to present (besides the Shelby and the Boss 302) that can beat a 2010 Camaro SS with a 6 speed manual transmission is the 2011 mustang 5.0 You have a Nice car with your 4.6L and everything so don't take offense to this but if its stock you haven't walked away from any 2010 SS 6 speed unless there was a lot of driver error on the Camaros part OR the Camaro was automatic. Huge difference.

I walked two down and got right beside them and won...I have been outrun by a few too....My Mustang came with a Saleen supercharger from the factory so it is a lot more stout than a normal 4.6L and thanks it is a limited production model and was only produced in that color in 2005-2006.

What else did anyone actually expect out of this race really? matter how great of a driver you are the ls3 camaro is a 13 second car. With a corvette engine! cobra was hitting 12.7 bone stock out of the factory. Ha! There is a reason why GM stopped making Camaro's after 2002, and Ford continued Mustang productions non-stop since April of 1964 and 1/2...GM couldn't figure it out. The new Camaro's look too "retro" and it looks like a chop-top to me. Out of all the muscle-cars, I would put the Camaro in 3rd behind the Challenger and Mustang, as far as looks go anyway. Camaro is too heavy and GM needs to figure something out fast. I say drop the Camaro and just bring back the Chevelle! Lol

@vanhalengt500kr when the new Camaro droped with the new stang gt the Camaro was by far faster with the 376 6.2l v8 and mustang 281 4.6l fell short like it did sence it was put in the mustang in 95 or 96 so ford ran back to the bord and did the 302 5.0l so gm made diff packaged SS so ford ran back again with and came with the GT500 (nice looking car too) and now the ZL1 will be ripping a old 1 in the mustang again and mopar just suck they look good but my 87 IROC 305 kills them and yes the SRT8

@sojer6mile You have your facts completely wrong... First off the 4.6L in the 210 mustang GT was a 3 valve engine with VVT unlike the 2 valve that ford used before. It shares many parts but was a huge redesign of the original 2 valve 4.6. Secondly the GT500 came out in 2007 which was years before both the 2010 Camaro SS and the 5.0 coyote came out. and Lastly, how the fuck is your 87 305 IROC beating SRT8s? I had a 91 z28 with the 5.7 L98 that couldn't beat a SRT8 charger when they came out....

I agree with SharkCityProductions....my 2006 GT has out ran many a 2010-2012 Camaro SS and I have a stock 4.6L V8....I have even walked a green 2010 Camaro SS down and beat them...they are nice cars but too heavy and take forever to reach top speed...and I have had my ass stompped by a 2003 Cobra that was stock...the motor that is in the Cobras was later put in the 2007 Shebly GT500's but with a 550 HP rating.

@LimeStangGt Well you just gave yourself away right there, the only Stock mustang in production from 2005 to present (besides the Shelby and the Boss 302) that can beat a 2010 Camaro SS with a 6 speed manual transmission is the 2011 mustang 5.0 You have a Nice car with your 4.6L and everything so don't take offense to this but if its stock you haven't walked away from any 2010 SS 6 speed unless there was a lot of driver error on the Camaros part OR the Camaro was automatic. Huge difference.
