  • From the start to the end..it's phenomenal!

I have been so lucky to see this show all over the world. It never disappoints.

  • Just the opening music makes me proud, happy, and just awed by how amazing this musical is.

  • I love Idina! I will never tire of listening to her sing "Defying Gravity."

  • WICKED IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wicked is such a good musical!!!! I saw Wicked like 4 times!!!

  • @mommymegs22 Me too!

  • WICKED FANS we would love to hear from you. Search Repeat Attenders on Facebook for more.

  • @doolstube iLOVE WICKED

  • The narrator's voice sounds like that of Julie Andrews. Is it her?

  • @byurazorhog YES! Did you know that?? I read the comment and then looked it up -- you're so right. :D

  • @byurazorhog And don't you think she'd make a great Morrible?

  • @IGiveMyLife2Follow no srry i've looked

  • bad quality srry

  • They need to do with Wicked what they did with Rent. Film a stage production (perhaps without the audience) and film an actual film. That would be sooo amazing!!!

  • I think it would work. I never really saw Rent, but some like Evita and Phantom Of

The Opera did really well when they were movies.

  • @80sgirl2010 I don't think Phantom of the Opera actually did that well as a movie. The key to making a great movie-musical though is to get SINGERS instead of actors to play the parts. And also to make it more visually interesting. Because the special effects on stage are not nearly as impressive on screen.

  • "in in...one and a half years, if they can sell over 1300 tickets to each and every performance"

  • i allways get chills at 5:08 when she goes up yelling "its me"

  • Me too, I get them at 'To those who ground me take a message back from me"

  • haha the fake wizard head 1:46 kinda looks like stephen schwartz haha

  • Yes in in in in what?

  • I love wicked!!!

  • Nothing beats originals, but the show must go on!!!! Sadly, I never saw them, but idina and Kristin are on YouTube and I hav their recording. I saw Kerry and Dianne, and I am seeing the tour this summer. Can anyone tell me who's currently touring so I know wat to expect? Lol

  • Teal Wicks as Elphaba... Amazing.

  • WHEN!!? WHEN WILL THEY RECOUP THEIR 40MILLION DOLLAR INVESTMENTS!!!!???? *OoO*

  • Their investment was 14 mil, not 40. They recouped their investment in less than two months.

  • @vjm3 - Thats what Im thinking too

  • @vjm3 inininininininininininininininininninininininininininininininininininininininininininininininininininininini

    :D

  • I've seen it three times in New York and I'm going this summer to see it in London! I'M SUCH AN OBSESSED FAN OF WICKED!!!! Everyone should go see it!!!!

  • your not alone my friend!!

WICKED OWNS!!! :D i've saw it three time when it was in melbourne! :D

  • Can some kind peeps tell me what Alexia Khadime is like as Elphaba on the london stage at the moment?

I know she won't be Kerry Elis - but is she ok, or a total flop? Thing is, it's gonna be years before they replace her and I really wanna see Diane Pilkington as Glinda! So...reviews, anyone?

  • @Merina2222 I saw Dianne Pilkington and Kerry Ellis in London, Dianne Pilkington is the second best Glinda EVER, after Kristin Chenoweth

  • alexia khadime is incredible. she puts such emotion into her singing. it's great! and of course, dianne pilkington is just amazing as glinda. she IS the image of british glinda. Kristin Chenoweth is the best AMERICAN one. they're impossible to compare because they're so different. But yes. See Alexia! She's also a really sweet, lovely lady!

  • She is AMAZING!!!!!!!! She has such an unique voice, speaking and singing, which i think captures the voice and character of Elphaba. Her Defying Gravity is one of the best ones and her For Good made my mum cry (in a good way!). I saw her recently and was completely blown away, she is just as good as Kerry, Idina and Eden! Totally go and see her!

  • This is such an amasing musical! I LOVE IT!

  • im mexican...i wish this kind of shows came here, or at leat they sould sell 1 dvd with the play....

  • I love it !!!!!!!

  • I'm gonna see this again!I can't beleive my luck!

    NEXT WEEK IM GOING!

  • What a sad ending.... lol Great video, though!

  • in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in.....in what?

  • I actually think that Dianne Pilkington portrays Galinda better than the original actress Kristin Chenoweth. If you look up the song popular, Kristin Chenoweth doesn't have that bubbly humor that Dianne Pilkington portrays very well.

  • @bulk8752 Thank you! Someone who actually agrees with me! Dianne is absolutely hilarious and personally i think the british accent works better

  • Agreed love diannne she's so great

  • i went today

  • im going to see this play in new york in december!

  • i have the book and iv seen it in the westend i thought it was brilliant im going back again soon to see it again

  • I saw Wicked a few months ago and read the book.

  • LOVE WICKED! GOD so fricking amazing...both book and musical

  • omg, it still brings me to tears to see/hear that segment of "Defying Gravity" done by Idina.

  • @goldiloks08 same. goosebumps too. whenever i hear any of her songs i am reminded of her extraordinary talent

  • are the videos for popular and defying gravity from the opening night?

  • I have this on DVD if anyone would like to trade

    x

  • sure...how much?

  • i think it's interesting they talk about broken records and 6:43 SOUNDS like one

  • who is narrating? is it julie andrews?

  • Yes that is Julie Andrews... She narrates the entire Broadway PBS series. this is the last show.

  • in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in......etc LOL

  • LOL

  • Oz doesnt existe, sweat pie.

  • I love how they didn't make Elphaba ugly and mean. I'm glad they made her likable. And Idina Menzel is beautiful.

  • I agree TwilighterFanpire123.Yeah i love Idina Menzel! She is an AMAZING singer, and i am SO glad they didn't make her ugly, she is absolutley BEAUTIFUL! Also i think the first is, and isn't the best because they don't have as much experience with it but they are also giving it their all, and it is unlike any of the other performances(exept maybe their last performance)in that they are giving it all their effort and it has SO much feeling and emotion! Also, if you like the musical READ THE BOOK!

  • Part of the point of this musical is that Elphaba is a normal person in every way except her green skin. It would not have served the story at all if they had made elphaba ugly. I don't really think Margaret Hammilton was ugly as the Wicked Witch of the West either.

  • She's not necessarily NORMAL. She's fiery, opinionated, and yet introverted. And besides, she has this amazing power. She's not normal.

  • Oh so true, I did not mean she was plain, I meant to say there wasn't any negative reason for her to be an outcast. But I get what ur saying, she is anything but normal.

  • I know Margaret Hammilton isn't ugly. But the way the movie portrayed the image of a witch as a rotten, ugly, woman with warts and such, and I agree it wouldn't help the story if they made Elphie ugly, that's why I'm glad they didn't, :D!

  • in in in in in in in in in in in in lolz........ i heart wicked.

  • Is that Julie Andrew's narrating?

  • yes it is

  • i thought i was crazy, but atleast someone thinks the same as me

  • i have been to see many musicals in my time and this is without doubt the best!

  • i respect your opinion, but i must say that i saw Wicked, and it was amazing!!!!

I wonder, does ur clear hostility towards this play have anything to do with you being rejected for a role in Wicked sometime in your "15 years in the industry"?

  • goofywilly said nothing about being in the industry for 15 years. He predicted that Broadway would only last for about 15 more years.

  • what did he say? for some reason it won't show up what he said?

  • Well, I don't respect his opinion. First of all, since when is the Wicked musical a remake of a classic story? Wicked is based on an original novel that tells an extended story beyond a classic story. It's a derivative work that takes the Wizard of Oz story and gives it a prequel. It is, in no way, at attempt at a remake. It's your opinion that it's "shitty music" and there are a lot of people who disagree with you. Wicked doesn't need manufactured hype to continue selling out night after night.

  • People have been predicting the death of musical theatre for awhile now. If you don't like Wicked, don't see it. Just don't think you're going to change the minds of anyone who does just because you claim that it's a remake of a classic story with shitty music. And Defying Gravity is an incredible song, with lyrics in which many people can see themselves (myself included). That ability to identify with Elphaba is one reason so many love Wicked.

  • IN IN IN IN IN IN IN IN IN, LOL, that made my night, lol

  • in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in

  • lmfao "in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in" <- thats the exact amount of in's.. uh huh im cool (NOT)... Wicked Is Soooo Awsomely Wicked Cool

  • what's with the end?

  • Idina Menzel was the best Elphaba in my opinion

  • She is very talented yes, but I prefer Eden Espinosa, she has much more emotions in her songs and is a very talented actor and performer.

  • hmm, there are so many good elphabas, stephanie j block, marcie dodd, and shoshana bean are who i prefer, but my opinions change often, although i love idina and eden though too, (just not as much as the others)...the only elphaba who i havent really cared for i think was...ana gayster

  • I have only seen Eden, Idina and shoshana, personaly I dindn't like shoshana much at all. And ana gayster looks like a dude:P

I love all the Elphapas no matter what, it is a brilliant and wonderful character, and you could not hate her no matter who played her. But Eden does the best version of elphaba, and she is a brilliant actor and singer. And I am looking forward to be following her career in the future, hope you will to=)

  • I got to see Marcie Dodd 3 times she was AMAZING!!!!! love her :)

  • where? LA? Tour? Bway?

  • On tour here in Tulsa :) Everytime i was there Glinda and Elphaba got standing ovations

One night though i heard she didn't fly because of the guy how helps her fly was sick and it became a safety issue i think it was the second our third night while they where here in tulsa

  • Of course they got standing ovations!!

  • wtf with the end. LMFAO

"IN IN IN IN IN IN IN IN IN IN IN IN IN IN IN"

  • I like in Australia but funnily enough i saw the new york one. IT WAS AWESOME!!! but my sis has just moved to Melbourne so i might get to see it again in Melbourne:)WICKED IS AWESOME!!!

  • I agree, the australian production is insanely amazing, go Amanda and Lucy! :D so sad about Rob Guest he was truly great.

  • My wife & I recently drove down to Melbourne Australia (from 100 kms south of Sydney) to see

the Australian cast production. (lucy durack.....)

I just can't imagine a better production than what we saw.....absolutely brilliant....words fail me.

We met a young girl who'd seen the production 36 times. And, believe it or not, I understood why !!!!!!!

Well worth the 1600 kms drive.

  • Joel Grey!!! He says he has never ben involved in anything as big as Wicked.....I think he has forgoten about his ocar winning role in Cabaret.

Long live Elphba the wicked witch of the west

  • Oscar is movies and other shows don't have the physical and technical demands of a show like Wicked. This is a very technical show

  • You're partially right, but just look at the sets for Wicked and the sets of Cabaret.

Wicked is completely diff'rent story with a completely different set and it well may be that the production of Wicked is much much bigger than Cabaret. So, he could just tell the truth without forgetting Cabaret

  • You aren't human. This musical is the best thing since I was born.

  • :O i cnt believe u! i love wicked. lol

  • ALW's opening The Wizard Of Oz?

  • Yes apparently next year, he will be finding a Dorothy on the BBC1 show searching for the next West End star

  • Omg =O.

  • Kristen Chenoweth is so right! You only get one opening night. It'll never be like this one!

  • I love this documentary. But what's up with the end? Julie Andrews just keeps saying "In".

  • Read the description. This is just a segment from a longer documentary.

  • I saw wicked yesterday. It was awesome!!!!!

  • I get to see this play next month in san-francisco next month.... So excitied.

  • i saw it on broadway

  • Hands down my favorite musical ever!

  • My favorite show by far!

  • IT WAS SOOO WORTH THE GAMBLE!

  • 4:26 jesse l martin!!!

  • ik!!!! love him!!!

  • I saw the show on Broadway earlier this week. Everything about the production is first class, and the audience gave the actors a standing ovation. A wonderful experience that I recommend to anyone who likes the original work, The Wizard of Oz, or appreciates the work of Stephen Schwartz (Pippin, Children of Eden, Godspell, etc.)

  • Omg I luv luv luv Idina! So did anyone else see Wilson Jermaine Heredia from Rent..came opening night to support Idina? I thought that was really sweet. Kristin as always is amaaaaaaaaaaaazzzzing too!!

  • I get to see this musical in London in 5 weeks!!!! This will be my 2nd brodway musical that I'll get to see. My first was the Lion King on broadway :)

  • you'll love it its amaazing i saw it in london in october :)

  • If been to the musical this Vacation is was like " WOAW ! " i came from belgium to london too see it & it was worth it !

  • I havent seen the show yet...Im dying too! I've been a huge OZ fan almost my entire life and I just finished reading the book and I have to say, #1 Im glad I waited till I was 21 to read this cuz I dont think I would have understood it had I read it earlier #2 Its one of the most beautifully tragic tales I've ever read #3 I know they changed a lot of the story for the show but I still am dyyyiiinngg to see it now!!! :)

  • the show is nothing like the book, but its 1,000,000X more amazing

  • Nothing is the wrong word. The show is BASED on the book so it has very similar main ideas and points.

  • no affence but why the hell ar u all fighting over wither it is Julie Andrews or not. The video isn't bloody about that. IT IS ABOUT WICKED!

    WICKED ROCKS!!

  • Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth are the most amazing actresses and singers out there. they are wicked! this musical is amazing <3

  • is the bad witch the girl that also came out in the movie RENT?

  • yes, that was Idina Menzel. she played maureen in Rent.

  • I <3 Kristin's rehearsal outfit...

and when you see the name on the poster change to Joel Grey you see beside it OWETH

  • is it me or is the speaker on hear juile andrews

  • That's what I thought too! And it might be. If this was just a short segment from a longer documentry, then I wouldn't be surprised if it was Miss Andrews.

  • yeah...i think you're right. It sounds exactly like her!

  • it IS julie andrews

  • This is my fave musical ever!!!!! It is funny, it shows how no one was really bad in the original wizard of oz (except the wizard) and has AMAZING songs. BEST EVER!!!

  • Hey I got rear mezz row H for wicked are those okay seats since a lot others were taken or too expensive

  • I had rear mezz 2nd row from the last center stage and it was far far far away. The Gershwin Theater is HUGE! That said it was still excellent. Although some of the smaller actions on stage were hard to see.

  • ...or perhaps the studder is the lag in the video, hmmm?

  • how dare you

julie andrews is a musical legend

  • LOL im seriously only joking about this.

  • I wish I had Julie Andrew's voice. It's just so lovely and pleasing to the ear!

  • julieand i are home girls

  • I HAVE To See This!

The Best Musical Songs Ever Written!

  • <33 Wicked! xD Thanks for sharing!

  • Thanks for sharing. I saw last night with the LA cast. I loved..loved..loved!! I want to go back!!

  • Ah! Kirsten has to stay! She's the best one!

But I guess I would be content with having Annaleigh as her, seeing as she's the second best :)

  • I love this show! I saw it when it first came out with all of the original cast, and I had no idea how lucky I was to see it until now.

  • *gasp* i am ssooo jealous! haha :P

  • You seriously really are very, very lucky.

  • NO WAY! kirstin has to do the movie!

  • lol did u c in 2.05 a guy jumping with springs on his shoes?

  • what the freakin heck are you serious??

this is one of the most famous broadway musicals in the us of a. right up there with sound of music, seven brides for seven brothers, rent, and hairspray

  • i thought that was cool that the narrator is julie andrews

  • LOL the narrator at the start: "W-wicked!"

  • I thought she said "was wicked" it didnt sound like a studder to me.

  • I found this it is from an interview with Cheno done on September 13, 2008!

I absolutely would, says the actress of joining the cast of the upcoming film. I have a deal there with them, but if they dont hurry up I could be playing [headmistress] Madam Morrible. So they need to go now or Im going to be too old.

  • why do they make EVERY single broadway musical into a movie? just leave wicked alone for a bit, it's too recent to be made into a movie already

  • What do you mean its new? Its 2 years old, thats considered old for a Broadway performance.

  • because not everyone can go to broadway and watch it! it's great to have your favorite broadway show at home to watch and enjoy whenever you want.

  • Well the film version rights are owned by Universal. The reason the film has yet to be done was they have to wait 5 years at least since it's Broadway debut to consider making it into a film. As for Kristen, She has said in many interviews that she would be willing to reprises the role she made famous. Even Idina has commented that should would do it. But something as long as Kristen would do it and if Schwartz would be on. And he supposedly said he has some ideas for the film.

  • Correction - the reason the film wasn't ever done was that the draft scripts weren't working. This, of course, was before the idea of the musical was introduced to Universal (and in particular, Marc Platt). A movie, as such, has been in the works for over 10 years.

  • ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wicked!!!!!!!!!

  • In what interview did Kristin say she declined the part?
