I used Blue Tack to stick the minifigs down on a slant, but only used a small amount so as not to be seen on screen. If you do try this, remember to work fast since the minifig will usually fall over at a slow speed. Other times I just blue tacked the minifigs to objects they were in front of. It’s all about giving the perception that the characters are actually doing what you want the audience to think they are doing hope this helps.
