  • he shouldve made a run 4 it with the phone

  • what color was the one you guys were playing with? Is that the one considered "brown"??

  • Yeah on T-mobile website it says black but originally Google says it "Google Brown"

  • Ok...who were the people shooting this video? Had they never heard of Street View?

Anyway I can't wait till the 22nd and I hope mine arrives before I go to work. I may go home and check at lunch lol.

  • they sould come with a pen like the DS to help you with the touch screen (classy) =) i just ordered mine CANT WAIT TILL OCTOBER 22nd!!!!!!!!

  • how much is it?

  • its 179.99 with contract...

  • Does anyone know if the G1 supports foreign languages? By that I mean inputting too...

  • That one guy that kept asking about AGPS was annoying.

  • No, its a serious question because the iPhone uses agps and agps is no bueno where you dont have cell signal. What sucks is when you dont have data because you cant load maps, as it is downloaded via your phones internet connection. Hopefully companies like tom tom and other third party developers create regular gps apps for android in the future that wont require a data connection.

  • Wow, you talk like an iPhone user too!

  • I mean I really really like the iphone but its just too expensive since my parents don't want to get at&t. so yea. but the iphoen looks great and well its from apple !I might get this phone since its cheaper and like its from tmobile, lets hope for the best !

  • I Love the idea of the Google OS on phones...

But the way it is being MARKETED and presented here is fairly lame. Because with my current T-Mobile WING with its OS (windowsMobile6) (and not that I am fond of it at all -- i'm NOT) -- right now I can run Google Maps, select "USE GPS" and I get exactly that same user experience and functionality. RIGHT NOW.

I run searches and the return listing are placed onto Google Maps, and it can detect how far away you are from each place. THUS -- to me --

  • (2) contd

-- I would "sell" the idea of the new Android OS/platform by showing and focusing on something that CAN'T be done right now on T-Mobile's existing high-end phone.

I get satellite view, map view, Traffic view.. I would have to check to see if I can get Street level view.

All I am saying is: For an average consumer who is looking at "what can this phone do for me?", you've presented NOTHING new. *I* love that it's Google's OS - but will consumers care enough ? ... Puzzled in SF

  • (3) btw, I will just add: HTC rocks -- and their devices get better and better. The slideout keyboard extends their T-Mobile MDA from 4 years ago, and the Wing 2 years ago - which refined it and slimmed it even more.

Yes, it's a bigger touch screen. And I am sure it is a damn great phone, just due to HTC's huge array of touch screen phones and their years of working through the issues. Each rev gets better. But that said, other than OS, it is not a breakthrough DEVICE. Improved one though.

  • no high quality?

  • oh well

  • 3rd

  • third!!!

  • second!!

  • first!
