i love this. my child does it in his reception class. i got this cd and the book from ebay brand new for a fiver. really good way of teaching children their letters.
I have just run two English Camps in southern Thailand. At the planning meeting a young Thai teacher said he wanted to teach the sounds of the letters a, buh, cuh etc. "OK, we can do that". Five classes in a day, each class getting an hour of your Jolly Phonics songs and actions - they loved it.
As a finale the word ice. mmm ice - ok - growl rrrrr ice 100 kids saying rice instead of lice...
I cant get internet access in the classroom at the moment and thought about putting this clip onto dvd- can I do that- is that ok? And if so how do I do it:-)
in my Nursery and Reception class we spelt out penguins the whole songs for PENGUINS has been stuck in my head forever we are now doing Lions and Tigers next
@agirlthing1 yes as i mentioned before 'Q' doesnt have a sound of its own, it is taught together with 'U'. so it is 'QU' for 'queen', 'quick', 'quack', etc. This is a phase 3 sound
@wtfuh23 ermm im sorry not sure if there is a dvd of these songs avaiable, i used the music and the pictures from the jolly phonics programes to make these videos, as i felt they would be good for parents to use at home with their children aswell, since using this programe with our reception children i am noticing a big differents with their reading and writing each year, so i feel that this programe works well
@racheraine not sure where u can download it from, i edited the programe that we use within my school, to create these videos, try lookin at websites jollylearning.co.uk is a pretty good 1, you can buy different resources on it to help with phonics, if not try some other websites aswell
@loulou93263 i used the program we have at my school to create these videos, but im sure you will be able to get the jolly phonic stuff from there online websites, google it and see what you can find, i just found jollylearning.co.uk that seems ok
@Charlii1225788 yea i think it really helps children 2 learn there sounds, which is why i wanted 2 share it on here. My class love the songs, and are now doing really well with reading and writing, they're so ready for yr1 now
@HelpMeThink85 we did a assembly play on penguins and we had one of the boys in Reception spell penguins out and as he spelt it out everyone joined in singing along with the CD
