I cried this morning thinking about he they lived the rest of their lives. I actually am crying a bit right now as i write this. Love this anime~ Hope that there's something out there related to this or just like this.

I believe that the @ritoyuki09 theories were correct. I believe that he did indeed wait because at the ending cut-scene it shows in the water that a person like Yuuri stepped off a blue bike and put a hand out to a girl that appeared very similar to Mashiro, so in a sense he waited for her to awake from her slumber and while waiting he kept working on motorcycles. Also if you notice she wakes up and smiles. You also see that a pink flower petal lands on the water. The petal refers to her.
Remember that good ending dialogue he said in the last minutes of the last episode? That a hundred years and even a thousand years was fine for him, to wait for her, kinda like a reverse of what happened in Yachimata Kageharu and Kikurami, where Kikurami was always the one waiting, this time in this case, Yuuri is the one waiting for Mashiro.
Thus in both the anime and game ending (at least in Mashiro’s ending), Yuuri decided to meet with Mashiro after she awakens by becoming immortal himself, that way it wouldn’t be a problem for him to wait no matter how long.
So it was a good set up for romance, seeing as ancient love was reborn and carried on with Mashiro and Yuuri. It would be stupid if it concludes the same way as their predecessors did, meaning they had to separate and never got back together. Yuuri didnt want this, thus in the anime, at first Yuuri was consoling Mashiro by saying that they will meet in the after life soon since a human’s life is short, still that kind of promise bears great uncertainty and isn’t within their control.
Yuuri himself became immortal by taking a part of Mashiro’s celestial energy with him, thus making him a part human and part Tayutai. Since if Yuuri himself just died then we would all be back to square one, seeing as Yachimata did love Kikurami, but in the end they couldnt be together. So Kikurami’s incarnation is Mashiro and Yachimata Kageharu’s descendant/reincarnation is Yuuri (since Yuuri directly inherited Yachimata’s powers and developed it even further).
@12jsmith12 no o.o...If i remember Mashiro disappears because Yuuri was suppose to only restore Mashiro's trueself ...so eventually this would happen and at the end Yuuri waits to be reunited with his love...Mashiro ..its pretty sad especially if you saw the whole series T-T
Nothing personal but I like Ameri better then Mashiro. The ending was good though- if they accept it whatever. . .I still like Ameri better though. I never really liked Mashiro at all I kept getting mad at Yuuri for ignoring (literally IGNORING) Ameri's feeling. I felt like destroying him. This video did not help. I respect the show and the plot. But I'll stick to my own opinions.

And to those asking why everyon is so down, They all know Mashiro is going to dissapear/die/break down and they just got married so they couldnt really handle see those last moments.
This anime, and i have not seen many animes, is very good. I could relate to some characters like Yuuri and his friend. I felt like that i was part of the story XD. During the serious i was happy, excited, angry, furious, laughing, and sad. I felt like i had known the characters forever. This ending....is one of the most touching things i have ever seen. I am glad they end up together forever in the end.
I had a little bit disapointing..in the continuation of this video.. I have found out that only Mashiro is going to disapeared . the 3 strongest tayutai and other tayutai still living on??? But WHY??
@insoyvideos u have to remember mashiro was only on earth till she connected with the humans and reunited with Kage---something forgot the ancient guys name XD and since that Yuuri's ancestor was Kage w/e they fell in love again so its sort of like they were reunited again and so mashiro had to go and until Yuuri dies he cannot see her again and the thing with the Three Strongest i have no clue how they are still there...maybe they,ve just been there the whole time? lol
@crazychris1123 The reason Mashiro left was that her body was breaking down after using the last of her energy to repair the damage after the final battle. That's why only she disappeared. As for the energy, I'm guessing, but was it either her or Yuuri releasing energy when they kissed.
One thing this clip left out was the scene after the credits. It's sometime after & shows the city in ruins and flooded. While on a hill overlooking it, Mashiro is on a motorcycle w/ someone(Yuuri?).
