I taught my kids that xylophone really does start with the "ks" sound as in fox, but that people are now lazy so its sounds like z. Its most likely how it is anyway!
@David0saka it sound like [muhng-kee] monkey from the international phonetic alphabet (IPA), could slightly be wrong on your [muhng-kee] Interpretation.
Besides that sounds good, very emphatic great job.
Nice, but a frw of the sounds are not quite what I am used to . (NOT saying they are incorrect.) I think the difference is in the accent of the speaker. An example I have come across elsewhere was hearing the /u/ in but and the /u/ in put, being pronounced the same. The speaker came from a region in the UK where those two words do rhyme. As teachers, we need to be careful that we are aware of, and accomodating of, different accents.
This is good sh*t... i'm taking my 4 year old daughter through basic word building, and this is definately an eye opener, as it builds on what she already knows.
A tangible expression of the letters i.e sounds we communicate with.. Afterall, what does an "a" "b" mean even when placed next to an image of an apple.
If you think of- "b" "ball. Except pronounce "b - bee" - but you don't say "bee all" you say "buh all" so it makes sense to present the letter (which represents a spoken sound) more accurately as "buh".. until writing
They just integrated it into the song used to teach children. I've done it at home though have to admit it sounds funny.
@TheAlmadeliux claro que si es ingles solo que es el fonetico recuerda que ingles las letras o grafemas no siempre se corresponden con su fonologia asi pues que para uno enseñarle a los niños algunas pronuciaciones comunes pues se les da los abecedarios de esa forma ademas si notas las imagenes la pronunciacion es de la primera letra del nombre de la imagen sino me crees ve de nuevo cuando dice la D de Dog ;-) esa es la forma los sonidos de las letras
The only problem with using xylophone is that it doesn't have a "ks" sound. "foX" or "boX" are better choices, even though they don't start with X they have the correct sound in them. Xylophone is useful for teaching exceptions like Xenon or Xanadu, but the "ks" sound which you used in your video doesn't fit.

Hi David,
great song thanks, just what I was looking for.
Anyway, thanks again and keep up the good work.
