That pickup selector switch is in a very dumb position. I'd likely be catching it. Not for the extravagent player. A pity though, because the black one looks nice, similar to a Lennon Rickenbacker 325.
Ibanez should really make more classically designed guitars.
I find that most of their solidbodies have absolutely no acoustic value, thereby just making them like a synthesizer; dirt until you plug it in. And even then the Ibanez solidbodies still have pretty bad clean tone!
Most people just slap some new pups on them with ridiculous digital sounding distortion in mind.
These hollowbodies/Artcore type guitars seem to be MILES better tonally then the solidbodies, MAKE MORE!
I tried the black version at a store yesterday, I have to say I've fallen quite in love with this guitar :p. It sounds amazing, much better than I'd expected. I'm used to Strats, so the neck felt a bit thick to me, but, much slimmer than Gibson necks. And for those wondering: You can certainly use it for rock, distortion sounded really nice. Not metal, but pretty much anything up to that :). I'm getting the Tobacco Flat finish. Beautiful guitar.
What I want to know is if it can sound nasty the way an sg would. If so, then it'll be my next purchase. But if it's meant to sound smooth, I won't bother. Unless all I have to do are change the pickups maybe.
@SkuyaHamilton Try first buy later ! (Only you can decide if its good for jazz why because we all play different for example i prefer solid body guitars and i can get the tones i want out of my guitar guitar the ) The Player makes the music not the guitar. But a good guitar makes the player play better, more and with more passion.

I have an Ibanez GRG170DX and changed the humbuckers with a Seymour Duncan Hot Rod set and made the bridge fixed. Now it is a very versatile guitar.

Looks like a nice guitar... reminds me a bit the Rickenbacker guitars.
Maybe with a fuzz or a overdrive this beauty sound like a rocker guitar? (:
