I FOUND THE SOLUTION! Task manager ==> processes ==> Look in the DESCRIPTION for something with IO in it, and end that one!

i had the exact same problem, and what i did was run it as admin. It seemed to work, although it still did take a while to load.... after about 10-15 seconds it loaded up fine. So i recommend trying to run it as admin.

FIXED: go to task manager, processes, there should be two sony vegas's, end the one that when you right click it, then go to properties, DOSENT SHOW THE VEGAS LOGO.

Did you install newblue fx if you did i suggest you uninstall it. thats what helps. but the problem for me is that i really want newblue but it will not work :(

Install Sony Vegas again (unless you have the original version), and if that does not work try to download the crack to Vegas or run as an administrator.

Uninstall the updates and library and vegas than restart the PC and reinstall everything. You may get the error again but it will load.

It happens because the system realizes that you are using a fake generated serial, so it stops working. Usually reinstalling it works.

I Had this problem, You probably updated vegas, DONT UPDATE IT, just backdate it to a previous version.

How to fix: uninstall the program -> delete the folder (C:Program Files/ etc...) -> Delete the "Sony" folders on AppData in local and roaming ( hit windows+r and type %appdata% ) -> type in search: regedit and delete the "Sony Creative" folders inside HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (in Software) and inside the Registered Applications at same place, then in HKEY_CURRENT_USER (again in Software) "Sony Creative" folder.

It happened to me 1 day ago and i really need help! I DON'T WHAT TO RE-INSTALL IT CAUSE I JUST PAYED 600 DOLLARS FOR 10!!!! but i have re-installed it be4 and nothing happened. try this: open up your task manager. then go to processes. end any process that says I/O manager or something that has I/O in it. then open up Vegas pro again. it should work. it worked for me. please thumb this up.

Theres not really much of a difference in 9-10.

(I went from 7 then to 9, nothing has really changed in those too).

I had the same problem like a week ago. What I did was uninstalled it, then deleted all registry values associated with it and Vegas 9.0(I assume you used to have it) then reinstalled and it worked for me.

I didn't have Sony Vegas 9 before, I used WMM/WLMM (Note the I got 'Sony Vegas Pro 10!!! :D' video).

I don't know what you mean by 'registry values' though.

Anyways thank you for helping, if I know what you mean by registry values I'll work on it right away.

@Sinic4 The registry values are the values that get written in Windows' registry when you install an application.

Go on start -> run -> regedit and you should be able to remove vegas' registry values from there.
