Wow two of my favorite NWOTM bands is Vektor and Havok, Vektor is literately "Destroying the cosmos" up in space and Havok is reaking hell on the ground, their enemies "Time is up". Both bands fighting for the same reason, to kill emos and pussies or any poser who doesn't get "Out of the way"! It's going to be a "Black future" for the fools who "Burn" in agony!
when the guitar comes in at the Intro... This Melody reminds me sooo much X-Files!!! What an opener to an insane Album. Only Thing they need to make me happy is to tour europe, especially germany
@Nelson123n From This Day Forward!! dundumdundumdun Nothing is going to be the Same!!!!!!!! I love that band, and I got the album "From This Day Forward" on CD at home, I love it! It's both strange trippy spacy thrash metal, so I guess you are very right about that!
These guys are fucking awesome! How come I'm just now hearing them today? I must be slipping. Thrash, techy, creative, great bass tone, and I'm diggin the black vocals.
Man... I guess the thrash crowd is a little bit older but I think metal is alive and well! Vektor is definitely a part of that but they are not alone.
@bce5150 Agreed. Just look at Mastodon, Born of Osiris, Insomnium, Vildhjarta, Hope for the Dying, and especially Sylosis. Metal is still very alive and well
But the majority of those bands you listed have nothing to do with it, as many of them suck and are the reason hipsters are defiling our glorious halls. The hipsterication of Metal, as you may or may not know, is one of the leading causes of Metal dying/sucking. And Modern Metalcore should never, ever be considered Metal, especially Sylosis
HftD confirms my believe that the term "Death/Thrash" is slowly being turned into another word for "Deathcore"
@BroodingPsycho Try Evil Army, they are fucking intense, especially songs like Driven to Violence and Scum of the Earth. The singer/guitarist has been in prison for a while so the band is on hold atm. Also try Hexen, Warpath and Diamond Plate's EP's (dont like their album).
@bozzi90 I doubt it man. They deserve to be huge but its too technical and aggressive for most people to grasp. They could be huge in the underground, and maybe in places like Japan and South America. But most of the population are too busy listening to Rhianna.
sounds like mediocre 80s thrash riffs mixed with Gory Blister (and old school Death. maybe even some of the more prog era Pestilence). its done well, its just not that catchy.
@BlackEcology That's the same problem I have with bands that rely on technical ability to wow the audience. They focus more on technical wankery rather than formulating strong riffs and expanding them. It's not that I don't "comprehend" the work, it's just that they often seem to write something that's about to get interesting, then quickly move onto the next thing. Definitely talented musicians, I'll still admit.
If you're reading this, you had better have already purchased this album! Support these murderers... can't wait for 12/6, or whenever Amazon decides to deliver my copy...
@ericiidx I wait for for the vinyl to show up to buy both to save shipping. But, don't worry, this albums sells great, Black Future was already Heavy Artillery Records best selling album to date.
@ericiidx Haha I know, just wanting to show my loyalty to this band by saying I buy both the cd and the vinyl.
I heard their next record will be a concept album, really looking forward to it, but damn, that takes atleast 2 years for that record to come out and I don't really got that many records to look out to after this epic release!
@arabianmetalhead99 Hey, Heavy Artillery Records sells the cd now, bought it and is on the way! Can't wait!
Btw, do you have any idea how to upload rip dvd's and put them on youtube? I got 2 Vektor bootlegs at home which look pretty cool, the content isn't on youtube and I guess some people would like to see more live stuff from them.
At a time when a lot of contemporary metal seems so generic, I find myself drifting away from it, to the realms of British classic -and progressive rock. Then comes a band like Vektor and shows me there's still hope, and that unique, worthwhile, sophisticated metal is still being made.
Vektor is one of the greatest things that's happened to Metal in recent years. They're doing something unique without straying from their thrash roots.
