  • For doing bios updates, if your asus board has ez flash 2 utility, I'd recommend using that for updating the bios. Whatever you do, repeat, WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT USE ASUS UPDATE FOR BIOS!!! Either use the AFUDOS tool that this author recommends, or use ez flash 2 from within the tools menu of bios if it's there.

  • Wow thanks a lot dude,

    I had to update BIOS

to put a new CPU :P

    much thanks

  • I ran a stress test and 3 minuites in my pc randomly shut down. p.s. this is a gaming pc!

    core 2 duo e6700 @2.66ghz

    4gb dual channel ddr2 ram

    600 watt psu

  • Way to rub it in buddy |:

  • I hate ASUS!!!

  • oh why?

  • ha ha!! I overclock my amd9950 to 3.2 and using prime 95 to test it after about 3mins the pc just shut down

  • lol, oh well. are the temps ok? If they are low, you might be able to up the vcore.

  • SAy why dont you add link's in the info??

  • Done.

  • Thank's 5 stars. Hey a question will this make games load faster?

  • Although, I haven't run any benchmarking tests on before/after effects, increasing your CPU's core speed will allow it to do more calculations per clock cycle, allowing the processor to process things faster. That being said, these days, another bottlenecking factor is the hard drive. However, overclocking is the only component of these two that you can upgrade for "free" with overclocking.

Actually, kenny overclocked successfully so let me ask him to comment on the change in performance.
