You are only one out of millions of alcoholics. Just because something worked for you doesn't mean you can set the standard for the other million. AA has work for thousands of people, and those results are better than your 1 result. I'm not bashing you success, congrats on remaining sober for 30 yrs. But if that worked for most people, AA wouldn't exist.
@sherwoode7 I agree with you. I don't do AA anymore, and haven't had a sponsor since my first one (male) came on to me (male) sexually. Creepy. I have 2.5 years sober so far.
XS7 is a known agitator and destructor of AA online, he has all but destroyed it but thank God for decent minded people that have stayed together in support of our fellowship and havent allowed this sick individual to become one of his little hitlers. AA online is going to grow regardless of people like XS7...get real XS, get on the program and levae the good people alone
AA guys are some of the most f*cked up individuals I have ever met!! They lecture everyone on "peace" and "enjoying life" yet most are controlling and ANGRY A**holes who have some serious psych problems

A sponsor is not God. A good sponsor is seeking solutions from his or her sponsor and so on with apparent reality that a sponsor's sponsor's sponsor, etc. has the time and experience to know that we do not unfailingly do what a sponsor tells us to do. We discuss options and understand that a good sponsor does not want clones or automatons.
Every day is a lovely day beyond my wildest dreams, dear! Our sponsor is someone we must obey without question, dear! Our sponsor is not our friend, our sponsor is our conduit to our Higher Power. Sponsor knows best dear!

AA groups and sponsors are made up of people. And since people vary, some AA groups are great, some aren't.
