It's not a "MISTAKE" but part of a good translation: to captures the sense and keep some of the rhyme to keep it as catchy as the original.

No. That's not actually how the idiom works in English. Generally, "za" in Russian translates as "for," but in English, when you are making a toast, you drink "to" something.

You can drink to your host, to your motherland, to your wife, to your girlfriend... and in Russian you'd use the preposition "za."
