The money cut from medicare is basically getting reappropriated. The stuff that used to be covered under medicare is now being covered by the new legislation.

All I've heard from them are erroneous arguments like death panels, illegal immigrants getting free healthcare and rationing care for disabled children. (all FALSE). If they really cared about those 'issues' they could propose a provision, but they don't because they only want to keep the status quo which is not working for the majority of Americans (with or without insurance).

Just point to the parts in the healthcare reform that will cause illegals to get free care (the public option offers affordable rates that will be paid by those who use it, only a small portion is subsidized through tax credits- know many illegals filing taxes???) and please point to the specific part of the legislation that cuts medicare or hurts elderly (btw- the AARP supports the current legislation.)

I can not believe that the speaker in the video thinks it is ridiculous for people to expect their representatives to read bills before they sign them. The way the house of representatives and senate work needs to be changed. Bills should be readable and shorter. Obama said bills would be released for 48 hours on the internet before the vote. 1) Allow ppl buy insurance across state lines
2) Allow individuals to get tax credits for the health insurance they buy (much like the employers get today)
3) Tax benefits for doctors serving the needy
4) Stop insurance comps to lobby Congress
5) Reduce war spending and use the money here on HC
6) Remove junk state mandated premiums (like pregnancy check for a 75 year old woman)

I'm afraid I can't help you with that, sorry. There are some Liberal views that I completely disagree with. I do know, however, that these "tea parties" would not be getting the kind of support they are getting if not for the conservative media, which helped to really get them orchestrated, and so, strictly speaking, cannot be called "grass roots". And just for the record, there is attention given to the "tea parties" by the Liberal media. I've only seen one example that bordered on insulting.

When the Iraq war is all said and done, that cluster fuck of a mistake will have cost us, (not only 4,500 of our troops and 88,000 innocent Iraqi's), the price tag will be $3 TRILLION dollars. But to spend $900 Billion in 10 years for "Social Justice", oh, fuck no! The tea parties are a joke, it is the same people that voted for bush & company that got us in to this shit hole!

this question is always asked. But if you remember, there WERE protests. But back then we didn't have as much spending with Bush in 8 years as we did with Obama in 6 months! So if you wonder where these tea parties were when Bush was in office, then somehow in a way you support the cause to stop reckless spending and government takeover. The question you ask is a contradiction in itself. And about your Fox News comment. All of them are pricks. But there are bigger pricks in the liberal media.

they aren't asking for Bush back, they just want to make sure we don't add even more problems
even if it took a party power shift to make them snap out of their daze and join those who were already in opposition to both Obama AND McCain, the point is that they are now questioning government, which should ALWAYS be encouraged
I think this opposition may have some valid points, but if they want to win me over, they better start by being MUCH better-coordinated

And those new organizations, Tea Party Patriots and American Liberty Alliance, first became TRUE organizations when the tea parties started happening earlier this year; in order to counter ACORN and the SEIU. Promotion of an organization by a media member or the endorsement of a political party does not make it astro-turf. The people themselves organize into events BY themselves.

Its called HB 3200, and its over 1000 pages. What is he talking about, not reading a bill is NOT the normal practice of politics.

It isn't even about civil discourse or intelligent debate anymore. You will be amazed at how much you can save if you just pay cash for your health care and bargain directly with the doctors and hospitals. I am uninsured, but I don't believe in putting my hands in someone else's pockets for it.

Ok, I have a question about all this mess you know, and not trying to argue just trying to get some opinions, ok as they mention the bills is not finished, but lets say they do finish it one day, and so yeah it comes down to the votes in congress, as a congressman lets say that you think or believe that this reform is good or bad whatever, my question is, as that being your job, you have to vote for what the people want right? I mean even if its good for them, if they say no, you say no right??
