@MrZach907 Slavery was outlawed in 1831 in Jamaica. Slavery was abolished in America over 30 years later in 1864. I guess the British colonialists came to their senses quicker than the Americans. Either way, Jamaica was not coming out of slavery in 1962 unless of course you are referring to the Jamaica Independence Act in 1962 when the United Kingdom Parliament gave Jamaica political independence. As far as that is concerned, I will leave it up to you to decide if it things are better since then
