1980 Malibu 229CID start after sitting for years!

i have an 84 impala with a 229 v 6.im trying to decide if i want to put a 350 in it.or just try to beef up the 229..it all comes down to cost, time,and performance.

@MEADOWSracing78 I wish I could! My friend bought a rental house and the car was abandoned on the rental property. They towed it to the farm several years ago before we knew each other. If I had a title for it I would definately sell it to someone who would make good use of it.

Love it. Mom used to have an 82 4 door Classic growing up with the same motor. Oh, how I remember the vent windows on the back doors.

They certainly do not make em like they used to.

I'd like to see a "modern" high compression aluminum engine from America, Germany or Japan pull this off. I swear if 99% of us die in a nuclear war, someone is going to find my 1985 Buick LeSabre 700 years later. If the keys are around the 307 will probably fire right up and drive away like nothing ever happened.
