Marciano was similar in size, but not as much in style as you think. Marciano had tremendous power in either hand, Frazier with the left. Frazier stood straight up, bobbing, little lateral movement. Marciano stayed low, moved lateraly very well, was very deceptive in his defensive style. If Foreman cant get to Marciano in about 5, he tires and Marciano catches him in later rounds. Ali knocked out Foreman because he lacked stamina. Marciano NEVER lacked stamina.

I think Ali in his prime is the only Athlete who could succeed in any era. Muhamad Ali was the best boxer in the ring that I remember seeing as a kid. He was also the most colorful. I loved his interviews with the late great Howard Cosell.
He has such a legacy in the ring and also has a beautiful daughter who has followed in his footsteps.

Mike Tyson had a higher ko to fight ratio (in his early carrer) than any other fighter in the history of boxing, and the 2nd was george foreman. Foreman punched harder than Tyson, and faster, but his defense wasn't as good. Its a never ending circle of confusion: Any of these 4 fighters could beat any other depending on the day.

Click on my name and check out some of my vids on mike tyson. He was a vicous beast who tried to bite people, attack refs, swear on the news, and threaten women at press confrences. He weighed 190 pounds when he was 12 - all muscle. He was sent to juvie several times in his childhood. He made his pro debut at age 19, and at 20 became the youngest heavyweight champ ever. Tyson vs. Ali in their primes would be great, but I still think tyson would win by a ko in one of the earlier rounds.

Ali fought 41 rounds with Joe Frazier, who probably possessed the best left hook in boxing history, and was knocked down once. George Foreman, who knocked people out left and right and knocked Frazier down 6 times in 3 rounds, got knocked out by Ali in 8. Sonny Liston, the Tyson of the 60s, got knocked out by Ali twice. And Tyson is going to knock out Ali in a couple of rounds? Never happen.

Tyson was a beast, a crazy and outta control, 5' 11'' 220 lbs., beast. He would rip through ali's punches and punch all the mucus out of his body followed by his trademark uppercut. Ali would be out cold for 30 minutes, and then in bad condition for years. It would be especially easy for Tyson to win if the fight occured between 1985-1997, when he practically killed every opponent, or the few that he had, because everybody was afraid to fight him. Tyson averaged 3.5 rounds per fight.

Boxers suck at fighting because they can't use their legs. That cuts half their weapons off. A well trained karate student of almost any discipline could knock any boxer on his ass within seconds. Don't think of boxing as fighting because it's nothing more than a crude sport where the man with the thickest skull wins.

Ali was not the bests boxer ever. He was 'The Greatest' easily the most influential fighter of all time. Huge in civil rights era and had a swagger unlike any professional athlete to that point in history. But it was a differant time back then as far as fighting was concerned. Tyson would have beaten Ali if they were both in their primes. Tyson, had he not thrown away his life, would have continuted to destroy opponents and this debate would not even be close.

Muhamad Ali was the best boxer in the ring that I remember seeing as a kid. He was also the most colorful. I loved his interviews with the late great Howard Cosell.
He has such a legacy in the ring and also has a beautiful daughter who has followed in his footsteps.
She seems like she should be a model than a boxer but she is very good!
