And another thing dry firing your rifle is ok, I've dry fired mine hundreds of times and do the follow though with the trigger control and breathing correctly you will that a 4inch group at 900 yards. Yes that's right I did that 4 times in a 12mph right-to-left wind so don't bull shit me assholes.
Mind your cheek weld because if you move it every shot you'll never keep on target, 1/16 inch movement at the cheek weld is 1 inch at 100 yards and don't watch the target watch the crosshairs and practice trigger control that's the big one, be smart don't trust your buddy to load your rifle, please that's so dangerous. That's what they teach you at sniper school so your kinda dumb
neat little tip but lemmi tell ya, theres no way im going to sit there and dry fire my hunting rifles, for anyone doing this get some dummy rounds/snap caps, there cheap and help prevent unnecessary wear on your rifle.
If you can't take a friend, put a snap cap in randomly as you load it. Don't pay attention to what order you loaded live rounds and snap caps, and you will catch yourself flinching this way.

why should you be surprised at the sound? if you're used to shooting, shouldn't you have already adapted and become accustomed to hearing gunfire? whenever my friends and i go shooting, i never am surprised by the sound, but am always accurate.
he also said the sound of the shot should surprise you. it never surprises me. i know it's gonna happen, and i'm accurate. so either he's got a flaw in his theory, or i've just grown accustomed to hearing gunfire and treat it like any ordinary sound.
The breaking of the shot should surprise you, and if it never does, you're framing/staging your shot. It may work for you on bench rest with a rifle, but try it with a pistol. Still accurate? Then you're full of crap.
usually u wont rly care bout recoil or sound if u see a big 12 point in your sights!

Is it ok if my eyes close when I fire my 12 gauge? Is that a flinch? My shots are accurate.
