  • If someone sells it i m interested...

  • Glad this is finally on CD !

  • Great to hear this fine track again!

  • la grande classe

  • Yes it is on CD (very obscure though) as I have a copy. It's a Polish import. Most probably a bootleg but it's on CD nevertheless....

  • Yep. It's definitely Paula Yates on the cover. She was going out with Bob Geldof at the time this was released... The Boomtown Rats were also signed to Ensign. More photos of her on the back sleeve too.

Other vocalists on the LP are Ula Hedwig and David Lasley. Mascara were a studio only band conceived by Caister soul dj Chris Hill and German producer Jurgen S Korduletsch. Backing tracks recorded in Munich, vocals in New York.

And no, it's not available on CD and was never released in the US.

  • oh i just found out, paula yates is the girl at the back at the window :o

i didnt even see a gllr at the window last time i looked lol

  • I still dont think the girl on the cover looks like Paula Yeats :-o

seems like shes credited from what ive researched, still doesnt look if its her to me.

Could be my eyes getting old though :p

  • What a fantastic tune this is!! just shows how versatile Luther was,(even though this was in his very early career, 1979) the vocals are superb on this track, Disco, Soul, R'n'B, Pop, he did it all.

Although imho he was best at the Love Songs :)

Theres so much going on in this song all at the same time,

    An amazing track altogether!!

  • wot a tune !!

  • I like Washed Out more

  • Really a holy grail. I'm going down on my knees and pray!

  • you can find this track on the CD killer's soul vol 6 or 7 - french production...

  • If anyone wants this in mp3 format?

  • i had this on vinyl having brought it for £10 in my local record shop in Hatfield during the late 1980's, i transfered all the album to mp3 format in 2005 and listed the album on ebay, a few days later the great Luther Vandross had died, it sold for £290 to someone in the USA, Yes it was Paula Yates, also on the artist label was David Bowie and Chris Hill the UK Soul DJ

  • amazing song................. very hard to find on LP. thanx 4 posting

    funky town grooves!!!

  • I've a huge Luther fan and thought I knew everything he did (including background/session work), but NEVER heard this track before - WOW - now i know why the Mascara LP sells for $100+ on ebay - this is stunning, soaring disco-soul of the highest order - esp dig the elegiac piano outro - RIP Luther - maybe someone will reissue this on CD one day? (hoping)

  • is this on a cd

  • this is all I know about it mate

from the 1979 rare LP entitled "See you in L.A." released on Ensign Records.

you might have to do some hunting to find it on vnyil...but dont think you'll find it on cd

    John

  • Is the blonde on the cover really Paula Yates?

  • I dont know...might be worth a bit of research
