Yep. It's definitely Paula Yates on the cover. She was going out with Bob Geldof at the time this was released... The Boomtown Rats were also signed to Ensign. More photos of her on the back sleeve too.
Other vocalists on the LP are Ula Hedwig and David Lasley. Mascara were a studio only band conceived by Caister soul dj Chris Hill and German producer Jurgen S Korduletsch. Backing tracks recorded in Munich, vocals in New York.
And no, it's not available on CD and was never released in the US.
What a fantastic tune this is!! just shows how versatile Luther was,(even though this was in his very early career, 1979) the vocals are superb on this track, Disco, Soul, R'n'B, Pop, he did it all.
Although imho he was best at the Love Songs :)
Theres so much going on in this song all at the same time,
i had this on vinyl having brought it for £10 in my local record shop in Hatfield during the late 1980's, i transfered all the album to mp3 format in 2005 and listed the album on ebay, a few days later the great Luther Vandross had died, it sold for £290 to someone in the USA, Yes it was Paula Yates, also on the artist label was David Bowie and Chris Hill the UK Soul DJ
I've a huge Luther fan and thought I knew everything he did (including background/session work), but NEVER heard this track before - WOW - now i know why the Mascara LP sells for $100+ on ebay - this is stunning, soaring disco-soul of the highest order - esp dig the elegiac piano outro - RIP Luther - maybe someone will reissue this on CD one day? (hoping)
If someone sells it i m interested...

Yes it is on CD (very obscure though) as I have a copy. It's a Polish import. Most probably a bootleg but it's on CD nevertheless....
