WWE gave him that horrible "Dean Douglas" teacher style gimmick making him job to "WWE made guys" while as you said ego-maniac punks like Hogan & Flair held him and many others down in WCW. Given half the chance "The Franchise" is better in the ring or on the mic than Hogan, Flair & Cena all rolled into one.

I was in the crowd for this event and this video was edited heavily. The promo was 10 minutes including shane saying bill busch's number outloud, calling him on speaker phone so we could hear that it was Bill's number and then leaving a curse laden message for him. Anyone who wanted to could have checked the number as he said it over the mic when he made the call. That shit was fuckin' AWESOME!!! I was in the balcony and when you see the franchise look up he was looking at our group.

Shane had his own problems though which is why he has never been able to work consistantly since WCW went under.
