The UK went through what America is going through now in the post WW2 era. It took 40 yrs to wipe out our countries manufacturing base. The result is not good. Great Britain was once the worlds factory. The same is happening in the USA with the resurgence of Asian economies on the world stage. It is a result of capitalist model evolution.
Due to globalization the family owned plant I worked at closed its doors and sold the equipment. Barley broke even after sale. We had 4 roll forms. 2 Tishkens, 1 Dahlstrom, 1 contour. We made drawer slides.
It was the best crew I have ever worked with in manufacturing. Very efficient and high quality focused men an women. We took pride in our work. I was satisfied with my efforts ever day I went home knowing I did the best job I could. Perfection was not an understatement.
@animaluc People work at a place and think up all sorts of inovations to improve the product and the manufacturing process. Then, the corporation ships it off to Asia. That is stealing. I know that the SOB executives and CEO's that do this globalization are all going to burn in hell.
You got that right! Amen!!! Most people do not have a clear understanding of the leveling of globalization. Its a tool for international bankers to destroy the western modern worlds and elevate the 3rd world population to balance out everyone to live as debit slaves. The new world order is real and has a long evil history. You entered my nwo quotes document.
@animaluc The only people with jobs are those willing to sell their life, an hour at a time, for the lowest bid. Yes, it's slavery.
These Chinese could have never, ever, in a thousand years, figured out how to do this stuff, if the corporations didn't send someone over there to show them how.
And if anyone reading this has gone to asia to show them how to make things, then shame on you, and I hope you burn in hell also.
Funny you say that. My ex-wife worked at a plant that made jeans called H.I.S. The maintenance men that worked their I knew 3 of them all of my life. Over 150 jobs lost in a small town called Gleason Tn. Do a Population search. A big employer!! The guys I knew tore down all the equipment shipped it to mexico rebuilt it and trained the workers. SICK HUH???
@recoveringcultmember There's a bit more to it than that. The American worker constantly demands to be paid more for his/her labor and simultaneously expects to pay less for someone else's labor. So wages go up and the need for cheaper goods increases. An overpaid workforce and out-of-control consumerism is what is driving American manufacturing towards extinction. Blame yourself and not the company trying to give you what you want.
