Clearly the US caused indescribable damages to Iraq, and both intentionally as well as criminally so. Iraq should file for damages through international law, in terms of damages, lost lives, inflicted suffering and lost revenues. Even if the US were to pay a fraction of any plausible damages, the US will potentially be paying for this catastrophe for decades.

Empires typically do this. There were no Vietnam "lessons" applicable to the middle east. There's no domino theory regarding Iraq.
