  • Tengo una Pregunta

tengo una de estas con 6 de ram si le pongo otra de más de 4 de Ram , el pc detectaría las 10 de ram?

  • will ASUS ROG USB BIOS Flashback work on crosshair IV formula? please any one help cus my motherboard wont post a try everything in nothng help

  • i have a rampage III extreme and i dont know how to use any of these features :(

  • @Antonio001z Consider yourself in for a treat! Turn your Rampage 3 Extreme into a Nintendo Wii Console ;) Use that bluetooth to connect a real Wii-mote and then download the Dolphin 3.0 Emulator. I wouldn't actually use the bluetooth to OC, put it to a more fun use.

As for the bios thing, just put your bios into the thumb drive, put it in the ROG usb port and hold the button (lets hope u never have to do this anyway).

  • @izlude2 yea let hope lol . got this whole comp second hand . . can you tell me if these specs are good????

    -17 980x

    antec true power quattro 1200watt

    -gigabyte gtx 580

    -6bg 2000mhz ram

-and the whole cpu is liquid cooled and i got all that iswell

-plus it all inside a lian li pc80 case . .

i pay 1400 aud is that a good price????

  • @Antonio001z Perfect price for high quality specs ;) I bought mine in the beginning, the prices were higher. Mine was i7-920c, 6GB 1600mhz, Asus-5870v2(ATI), 850watt psu, using my old hard drive and case. My total was 1250 USD (1241 AUD).

Your CPU and GPU are far superior, it's amazing you only paid about 1400, which may have been 1800 earlier this year. Way to go! Not to mention the liquid cooling! I see us LGA 1366 folks sticking around even after LGA 2011 comes out.

  • @izlude2 thanks man . . ummm i having some issues with it atm though . . the bios led is yellow and the led next to the red sata III connector casually flashes red . . also when i first got it i updated the bios and it would fail to boot on me it would start fail and then start and fail again and on the third try it would work fine :S and the vram light kept coming on . . i researched it a bit and it turns out the dimms were not in properly . .

  • @Antonio001z A yellow bios LED is normal. The flashing red LEDs on your devices mean poor connection. Seems you fixed the RAM already by re-seating it ya?

For the SATA-III, try 6gb clips if you haven't already (these cables have a higher tolerance) If "possible", don't use the SATA-III ports, they have a design flaw which makes them much slower than the normal SATA-II (Asus people accidentally set the SATA-III to 1x instead of 16x)

Try a reflash too through the bios, not windows. Ver 1502

  • @izlude2 i fixed the ram issue with windows booting on the third attempt by putting the 3 dimms in the red slots as they were all right next to each other on the left side when i was having issues . . btw my bios led stays on even after i turn my computer off . .is that normal?? and im thinking of selling my gigabyte gtx 580 and getting a msi gtx 580 lightning as it has 3gb of ram . . unless it can sli the two?? :S do you think its worth up grading to the lightning 3gb??

  • @Antonio001z Ya the led is normal. Not sure about the video cards though, you probably don't need the upgrade unless your games are struggling. :P that's extra cash in your pockets ;)

  • @izlude2 well currently im running battlefield 3 on ultra at 1920x1080x60 and im not hacing any problems at all apart from my gtx 580 reaching 80c and my north and south bridges reaching 60 c so once i water cool them and put the ssd in then i should have a great rid . . btw should i get a sata III ssd ?? will it work on the rampage III

  • @izlude2 my bios is 08.00.15 is that up to date?? thats the best i could see on the asus site? also my windows takes ridiulesly loang to load . . like a good ten min and it hangs at the welcome screen for ages, is something wrong or is it because i am using a 5200rpm 2tb hdd . . i getting ssd's next week hoping that will fix it . . as for the sata ports i was told to get crucial ssd's as they use a marvell controller and this will work best with the rampage.

  • @izlude2 sorry one last thing . . . can i water cool the north and south bridges ? as they reach over 60c while gaming and i can feel them on the side of my face

  • @Antonio001z Sure! Acetal and Koolance make "full board water cooling". (basically 1 piece)

I'm not sure who makes the individual blocks though (add-ons) for existing lone cpu water blocks. They're out there for sure. Just make sure you don't get any waterblocks that have the little windows on them that show the liquid (they look cool but they are prone to cracking from the heat and rushing liquids).

  • @izlude2 ok . . wata about the sata ports? is it worth getting a sata III ssd???

  • @Antonio001z You should opt to buy a sata III controller, as putting them into sata II ports will drop the 6.0Gb/s to 3.0Gb/s

I hear rocketraid is nice. Check out some of those cards and make sure the reviews are to your liking.

I personally am going for a revodrive just for simplicity's sake. Apparently you can't use trim in RAID setups, but this has a built in garbage collection that works just as good as trim.

But remember, the Marvell goes slower than the regular ports.

  • @izlude2 can you tell me is 30c is a good temp while playing games??? my gigabyte gtx580 reaches 60c max when under load is that too hot????

  • @Antonio001z 30c sounds good for idle. I know some folks going the dangerous rout using that toxic stuff to get to 25, but no need for that. Just remember that if your chipset heats up, it degrades the cooling of the CPU. Does your water system also cool the chipset?

If you're already overclocked and feel you've reached your most stable settings and you're at 60, that's great. 75 is the safety limit (but I know it can go as high as 85 until you start BSOD)

  • @izlude2 only my cpu is watercooled and it is not overclocked as i have no idea how to do it . .my card is just air cooled but im getting a waterblock for it next week along with another radiator, res and pump . .as for cpu it can go as low as 12c on idle and the highest ive ever seen it is 38c. .if you want i can put a vid up of the rig so you can look and give me tips ???

  • i installed RC Bluetooth on my phone did everything that is in the guide but it says

The Connection is not available what should i do ?

  • @wolvenring2 Press the BlueTooth button in the back maybe?

  • I think I need money ... a lot of money !

  • Too bad RC Bluetooth doesn't work on most phones. I have a Rampage III Extreme, and I've tried RC Bluetooth on 6 different phones. The RC Bluetooth app runs but doesn't work on any of them. Shame on Asus.
