this game looks really good, dont get me wrong, but i'm not like the cod-esque combat and scripted events, like the sprinting. would have much preferred a more organic half life-feel, giving control to the player to see how things happen. but, this is only like a minute long, and the gameplay looks pretty amazing so far.

In it they give you a lot of control over things that happen and only take away control at very key moments. This series has always reminded me of Farcry you know? They give you an objective, and there are a ton of different ways to do the mission given to you. It's only at real important moments things lose the organic feel.

Picture a rotting, hulled out version of the Moscow Central Public Library (a beautiful building in real life). Now add in mutated plants with SNOUTS that try to beat you to death if they detect you, crumbling staircases that give way under you with little to no warning, giant ape-like creatures called "Librarians" that take HUGE amounts of damage and can kill you in two or three hits.

Oh, and the first half is above ground, so you're in radiation.

Fair warning if you try it though, it's "stealth" element was very clunky because it was a "first project" for the company that made it. This sequel has backing from a major gaming studio and a huge budget, so those problems are most likely all gone, but if you want to see what all the fuss what about, give it a shot. It's only 20 or 30 bucks nowadays. It's one of my favorites even with the issues because of the awesome story/feel.

Metro 2033 was an excellent game. The attention to detail and level of graphics were amazing. And I'm talking about DX9 only I don't have a DX11 card, but I was able to max out the graphics completely.

This to me is still one of the best looking games to this day.

I am firm supporter of 4A Games and THQ for taking chances like this. Even though it isn't an original storyline completely, their execution and talent behind the game was outstanding.
