When they said they were going to get a new voice actor for Max in the third game, I imagined Solid Snake voiced by someone other than David Hayter. Thank the gods Rockstar didn't follow through with that decision.
I would like to see more chapters and more action in MP3, and I was suprised that Mona "survived", and she was still alive :D And i hope tha she will be in Max Payne 3 :D Good video :D
Three years ago when I finished the game for the third time I tried to watch this video but my sister burst in and started yelling at me for no reason... I still haven't forgiven her...
Damn if Mona lived again and so did Max after god knows how many headshots and deep falls and explosions and just about every other environmental dangers then their babies are gonna be immortal !

Still, I get the feeling they wouldnt have used this ending either way anyway, and that would have killed my interest to begin with.

To me the fact that the same writer who wrote MP 2 (and i presume MP 1 which was better in my opinion) wont be on the job for MP 3 means the chances of disappointment have risen greatly.

Also Remedy is supposedly not making Max Payne 3. In other words it is just a different game with Max Payne's name stuck on it. In the" Prince of Persia -The Two Thrones" they used a different voice actor for the character "Farah". It ruined it for me. Everything Farah spoke I kept thinking; "That's not Farah"
This should be the true ending. All of the people who fucked up Max's life are dead. He's alive. And he has gotten a second chance at a happy life and a second love. He deserves that.

i think the hardest part in max payne 2 is NOT the boss battle to kill Vlad, but the level "out of the window and genius of the hole" which you play as mona and keep sniping the commandos and cleaners trying to kill max, and the hardest part is actually to get through from window to window, i kept get lost, and the commandos kept ambushing me!

@ghosthunter2010100 The part where you play as Mona is somewhat frustrating, mainly the moment where you have to play sniper and save Max Payne, because I left Max Payne with such little health at that point.
@LockardKevin Oh yeah, I know! That part was hard. I was a little disappointed at playing Mona in the beginning because of course I was use to Max, but I got use to her after a while. They have us play her so we could see what went on from her point of view. But yeah, you're right, the part where she's the sniper and has to kill off the targets before they got to Max, I don't remember how many times I tried it, but I know I hit that save button right after I made it through.

In the first Max Payne, he was wanted by the police because he was believed to have murdered Alex Balder, the one who he was supposed to meet at the subway station. The man who had framed Max was B.B., the one in the trenchcoat and sunglasses, he called Max, "Maxie". You end up killing him in that car garage place. I wonder how Max convinced the police that he himself had been framed.

@sunilgarg007 Yes, that's right. But Max was arrested in the end, and as he was entering the car, Alfred was in the crowd looking at him and grinned smugly, which was the grin of a winner. Max's last words were, "That makes two of us." Why didn't Alfred keep his word by saying he would save him from the cops? He killed Nicole Horne in the end. She died in the fiery helicopter crash, which was AWESOME.

NICE! On dead on arrival ending he says " there's 2 survivers" so Mona didn't die on dead on arrival difficulty? Because on rest difficulties he says she dies.
I finished the game today, and I have to say: IT'S FREAKIN AWESOME!!! I never expected for a game that was on the previous generation of consoles to be that good; the graphics, game play and story were actually brilliant! Though the acting was pretty appalling

Yeah I felt "she was dead but it was all right" was his way of saying he was at peace with the past now. AMAZING game, great story. I'm interested in MP 3... tho if it has nothing to do with the story of the first two then I dunno.

This ending is a fucking joke. I Mean Mona was shot in the head in the last game, there was no reason to bring her back to this game, but certainly they did. So now she is alive (for reasons they never explain) and is shot by Vlad, right? She SHOULD BE DEAD for god sakes, i can accept the fact that she could survive once, but... twice? WTF, is she a Goddess or something? Max never dies in the story, but that's normal because HE IS MAX PAYNE, there was no reason to make her to live.
@SPIDERSAMHULKBLADE Because headshots IRL are not always fatal? Get hit on the brainstem and you die. Get hit anywhere else and there is a chance you survive. Plenty of books and articles about it. Like people who shoot themselves in the temple to kill themselves. Many just destroy their optic nerves. IIRC the bigger the bullet the lower the chance but it was still 10-15%

Honestly, the first thought that came to my mind when Max said that sentence was that he was dying from his bullet wound, and was looking forward to see his wife and daughter again on "the other side".
Either that, or he finally just let go of the case and felt better now that everything was all over. Nevertheless, I don't think that theory makes as much sense, cause frankly, he never really got the sweet revenge he longed for...
I mostly loved Max Payne 1 and 2 because of the noir setting... his choice of words in the comics, his gloomy personality, etc... and as I see it, that's not the case with Max Payne 3.
@chargerfngl4d2 If you beat "Dead on Arrival", she survives, which is way more glamour and is what Max Payne deserves. His descent to hell wouldn't have been worth it if Mona were dead. She's friggin hot too.

Max Payne seems to have an underlying theme of rising above the filth of a fallen world, (At the end of the first game Max Quote's the Aesir slogan "a bit closer to heaven" I'd be hyped about the third one if it was written by Sam Lake and the setting and protagonist weren't changed so much, but at least they got Macafrrey back for it so I'm reconsidering my decision to steer clear of it.

In the first Max Payne, he was wanted by the police because he was believed to have murdered Alex Balder, the one who he was supposed to meet at the subway station. The man who had framed Max was B.B., the one in the trenchcoat and sunglasses, he called Max, "Maxie". You end up killing him in that car garage place. I wonder how Max convinced the police that he himself had been framed.

@sunilgarg007 Yes, that's right. But Max was arrested in the end, and as he was entering the car, Alfred was in the crowd looking at him and grinned smugly, which was the grin of a winner. Max's last words were, "That makes two of us." Why didn't Alfred keep his word by saying he would save him from the cops? He killed Nicole Horne in the end. She died in the fiery helicopter crash, which was AWESOME.

I finished the game today, and I have to say: IT'S FREAKIN AWESOME!!! I never expected for a game that was on the previous generation of consoles to be that good; the graphics, game play and story were actually brilliant! Though the acting was pretty appalling

dude its max payne ok people survive!! off the top of my head max has survived a 60 foot fall shot twice in the back survived another fall shot in the temple partly burned and smacked in the face with a pistol i am sure mona can survive a shot in the haed and a shot in the back

Yeah I felt "she was dead but it was all right" was his way of saying he was at peace with the past now. AMAZING game, great story. I'm interested in MP 3... tho if it has nothing to do with the story of the first two then I dunno.
BTW thanks for posting this for people like me who have enough trouble with the first two difficulties.

This ending is a fucking joke. I Mean Mona was shot in the head in the last game, there was no reason to bring her back to this game, but certainly they did. So now she is alive (for reasons they never explain) and is shot by Vlad, right? She SHOULD BE DEAD for god sakes, i can accept the fact that she could survive once, but... twice? WTF, is she a Goddess or something? Max never dies in the story, but that's normal because HE IS MAX PAYNE, there was no reason to make her to live.

Like people who shoot themselves in the temple to kill themselves. Many just destroy their optic nerves. IIRC the bigger the bullet the lower the chance but it was still 10-15%

Honestly, the first thought that came to my mind when Max said that sentence was that he was dying from his bullet wound, and was looking forward to see his wife and daughter again on "the other side".
Either that, or he finally just let go of the case and felt better now that everything was all over. Nevertheless, I don't think that theory makes as much sense, cause frankly, he never really got the sweet revenge he longed for...

I mostly loved Max Payne 1 and 2 because of the noir setting... his choice of words in the comics, his gloomy personality, etc... and as I see it, that's not the case with Max Payne 3.

I am not looking foward to max payne 3 AT ALL!. to me, 1 and 2 were perfect. a masterpiece of storytelling. and I feel from the tone of the game all the way from the first line delivered that this is the TRUE ending of the game. max payne has always in a odd way been a game about hope and redemption amongst the chaos. this third game doesnt look like it has understood that messege

Max Payne seems to have an underlying theme of rising above the filth of a fallen world, (At the end of the first game Max Quote's the Aesir slogan "a bit closer to heaven" I'd be hyped about the third one if it was written by Sam Lake and the setting and protagonist weren't changed so much, but at least they got Macafrrey back for it so I'm reconsidering my decision to steer clear of it.
